里只睡２小时，然后就在走廊里从这头到那有的PACING。也不让我进屋查体，赶紧CALL
医生送精神病院了，他妈说千万不能让他回家呀。好在没暴力倾向。
PSYC CONSULT 来时聊了两句，据说CENTRAL TEXAS很缺PSYC 医生／NP什么的，而且病
人决大多数不会暴力，有人在做PSYC NP的么？进来说说工作性质，是直接进PSYC NP
PROGRAM好还是等FNP毕业再读个POST PROGRAM？ |

laukeen的背景，为什么不往school psyc靠拢呢， edu psyc 大多讨论理论问题，发展
很老了（国内的心理系也都是师范学校的edu psyc 起家，老教授们一大堆） 。school
psyc 倒是需求旺盛。 |

interesting, which it is.
My professor is a PhD in Psyc, and yes they do research on abnormal
behaviors and so on, but it's not as what
most people think. It was fun, though, we learned about Mood disorders,
personality disorders...etc. |

measurement, partly because all the IRT people that I know personally are in
psyc departments.
Darrell Bock (1997) has a very good paper on the history of IRT (note: not
Rasch modeling) in the winter issue of "Educational Measurement: Issues and
Practice." This should be an NCME publication, if I'm correct. He traces the
roots of IRT to Thurstone's (1925) paper on scaling. Thurstone was trying to

Ed measurement programs are in education schools, and you get a degree in
education. Psychometrics program are in psyc departments, so you get a
degree in psychology. Job placement is usually better in psyc. |

我英语已经修完了
所以我这个学期只是修CHEM 1405, SCIT 1407 和psyc 2301
没有选BIOL 2401因为他跟SCIT是2选一
每个学校关于先修课的规定是不一样地.有的学校要求高达近十门,所以不太可能一个学期
修完.;)
如果你所列出的课已经包括了你所申请学校的所有先修课,那么你完全有可能在一个学期
之内修完.化学很简单,国内的高中水平考A是没有问题地.如果你不想浪费时间和金钱,同
时又不怕麻烦的话,你也可以去开高中的化学证明.
Anatomy & Physiology放在一起学,对于没有任何背景的人来说,修起来比较头疼一些.我
有一同学就是放在一起修地,虽然每次她都很痛苦地说,"真难,难死了",最后turn out也是
个A.给你打打气,和和.
英语嘛,就要根据你自己的程度了.如果你通过了学校的placement test,可以直接修
Composition I,那说明你通过起码不成问题.

发帖数: 17 | 26 我现在是做认知的，从行为层面上研究memory，reconstruction of memory， episodic
memory，contextual influence什么的，夏天就master毕业了。我现在是在加拿大，申请
了美国的phd，想转到cognitive neuropsyc，结果一个offer也没拿到，不过我也承认，
我上的课其实不多，而且就是认知的课，和神经科学没什么关系，所以说背景不够strong
。我想先回国工作一年，再申请最后一次。现在面临选择专业，我不太想继续做认知了，
我总觉得仅仅从行为层面上研究认知有点当不当正不正的，说是基础理论吧，可还是
不如neuro那么科学。可是我再申请neuro大概还是不行，背景没什么变化，thesis能发也
不知道得什么时候。我想的不然就申请edu
psyc，往应用一点的方面转，找那些做learning的教授，这样的话我的memory的背景估计
还沾点边儿吧。还有就是行为矫正。各位同行觉得我这样申请能有戏吗？可不可以给我提
点建议啊，还有申请哪些方向可行呢？我也不想彻底丢掉memory这些东西呢。多谢了。 |

SPSS is easier to use for beginners.
From my experience as a consultant, my impression is that SPSS is more popular
among the academics, while SAS is more popular in the industry, for example,
in testing programs, or survey firms.
It also depends on where you are. In some psyc departments SAS is more
popular and in some places SPSS is better liked. |

Others (in addition to the list) include:
U Minnesota, UNC-CH, Bowling Green, Arizona St U, Notre Dame, GIT, USC, UVA,
U Oklahoma, U Kansas, UMO-Columbia, University of Washington, etc.
There are also a number of psyc phd programs that offer a "minor" in
quantitative psychology.
Programs vary in terms of their requirement, and I probably know a few of them

external reasons. I tried to cultivate my interest in i/o, but I found myself
not an enterprising person at all, so I gave up and stay in my current program
which is just mediocre, but which meets my interests. Yet, I have a friend
who loves I/O a lot. See, people are so different.
What experience I can share with you about I/O is that if you go to PhD
program in I/O, stipend is offered as well. After graduation, you can be |

书看看再决定。
认知心理学毕业大部分做教授，记忆方面的招人不是很多。我知道到的薪资是加州某州
立去年招记忆方面的，一学期要上3门课给6万5.
楼上讲的脑成像现在比较流行，很多学校招人也喜欢招neuroscience和behavior
science 都能干的。不过最容易拿funding的还是搞health和认知的结合的 |
