还记得那个著名的转基因试验吗？试验小白鼠身上长满了肿瘤。央视曾经报道过
，无数人看过视频，但转基因方多次宣称这是谣言。农业部也多次组织专家否认这个试
验的真实性。事实真相究竟如何？最新情况如何？让我们还是先回顾下这个试验的漫长
争议过程吧。
2012年9月，法国凯恩大学塞拉利尼教授在《食品与化学毒物学》科学杂志上发
表一篇论文《农达（草甘膦）除草剂和抗农达（草甘膦）转基因玉米的长期毒性》，报
告引用转基因玉米NK603进行大鼠两年饲喂研究，引起大鼠产生肿瘤。
报道经央视新闻栏目报道后引起巨大的关注，支持方和反对方形成两大阵营，其
中转基因专家、方舟子、果壳网第一时间跳出来认为试验有问题，转基因食品安全。
这个试验在欧洲和世界各地引起巨大反响。欧洲食品安全局调查评估认为，该研
究得出的结论缺乏数据支持，相关实验的设计和方法存在严重漏洞，而且该研究实验没
有遵守公认的科研标准。

1. 方舟子并没有否认Assist Prof是相当NB的，不但译成助理教授，连译成副教授都不
够“信、达”. 因为Assist Prof可以带博士. 这要在国内得算博导.
2. 方舟子只是认为Assist Prof翻译成助理教授已经是学术界通行的做法。不管这个翻
译恰当与否，现在已经木已成舟，约定束成了。他举了一些例子来证明这一点。比如目
前国内P大，T大，对岸台大已经模仿美制设置了对应的职位。
(当然这里"约定束成"，是可以讨论的，反方者大可以举出另外的证据，证明没这事儿
，Assist Prof译成副教授的也比比皆是，不是开复的发明。)
3. 方舟子认为开复把Assist Prof译成副教授，是为了让未读过英文原文的人误以为是
Associate Prof.混淆视听. 因为李开复是知道这个翻译已经约定束成了的。他在翻译
别人的Assist Prof时，也是译成"助理教授"，唯独对自己搞一套新发明。
(其实这里方舟子有些过分，因为开复已经在文中明说了这个“副教授”不是tenure,

我发了个帖子说有的学生没有礼貌，然后就居然有人跳出来说做个教授别自以为了不起
，别把自己当棵葱，学生是给我们钱吃饭的，等等。
我觉得有必要澄清几点：
第一，对于熟悉的学生，直接称呼Jiabao就可以了，我没有疑义。
第二，如果从未谋面的学生直接说Hi, 或者Hi Jiabao Wen，我觉得是没有礼貌的表现。
第三，从某些人回帖的用词之猥琐可以看出来这些人就算是教授了，本人也就是没有家
教没有礼貌那种人，所以大概也不能强求学生怎么样，或者从来没考虑过礼貌问题。
第四，很多人对做教授表现出一种鄙夷态度，认为教授就是混饭吃的，美国人都不怎么
看得起教授，所以我们不应该把自己当棵葱。对这些人，我要说，
首先礼貌不礼貌的问题跟把不把自己当棵葱是没有关系的，就算是没有把自己当棵葱的
公寓看门人也是希望自己被尊重的，而礼貌问题也是有社会规范的，不遵守就会让别人
觉得没有被尊重。

都是必备之物，但最最重要的，却只是简简单单三个字：早动手。一要早，越早越好，
不管是NIW还是EB1，二要动手，尽量别拖。pueplewolf本人2006年5月联系律师办NIW，
6月底140就递到TSC了，这其中有自己说干就干的因素，也有律师工作神速的缘由 ：）
。半年后140批准，2007年7月挤在大潮中递了485，从此就像冬眠的蛤蟆，死等~~~ 尽
管后来找到公司，心中总是觉得快了快了，懒得弄EB1。结果就是被USCIS一而再，再而
三，三而四，士可杀。。。唉，到头来，还是按耐不住，花了1000刀PP。所以，能上
NIW，早上NIW, 你不知道什么时候机会就到你这里；能上EB1, 别怕花那钱，别图那省
事。绿卡到手，才是真正省事省心。OK, 闲话到此，进入正题。

Professor Wen 或者 Dear Jiabao(仅限于非常熟悉的学生和老师之间).可是我经常接

1，第一位离开之前是CUHK full prof，现在跳到是美国康奈尔大学给的full prof。
2，第二位离开之前是CUHK assistant prof，现在跳到英国兰开夏大学给的reader。
也是这个系，补位的两个新教授，都是老外。
1，第一位美国人，来之前是美国杜克大学的associate prof,现在是CUHK associate
prof。
2，第二位英国人，来之前是英国曼彻斯特大学的full prof,现在是CUHK full prof。
如果能在香港top3评tenure，基本美国TOP20就可以平跳，T30以外的美国大学可以随便

发帖数: 143 | 31 好吧，我对日本的头衔分的不清楚，误导了，不好意思。
我的概念里日本的faculty原来应该是助手－〉助教授－>教授
我去上日语课的时候老师说最近改名字了，助手变成了助教，助教授变成了准教授。级
别还是跟原来一样，名字不一样。
但是好像很多人也用原来的叫法，所以有时候会弄混。
那么对应的美国的级别应该是assistant prof，vice prof，prof。
这几个头衔都算是faculty，都是固定位置。
我所说的这个师兄的头衔，实际上assistant prof这个级别的，不是以前的助教授，现
在的准教授，vice prof这个级别的。
因为是在研究所，所以没有prof的头衔，叫Senior Rearcher。总之是个固定位置，算是
group里面的faculty而不是临时的岗位，虽然日本的assistant prof要比美国的地位低
很多。
日语确实是个问题，但是因为是在研究所，所以他现在不讲课，他说他才刚开始学日语
。
不知道这样说清楚正确否？
我觉得他能做到这一步，已经算不错了，可以给我lg做个榜样了。
关于我lg，因为phd刚毕业，位置只sopport一年，也就是个临时的岗 |

了。
同意前面有篇文章说的，能够被 CMU 聘为assistent prof. 绝对是牛人。assistant
prof. 翻译成为副教授我觉得挺合适的，翻译不见得是要直译，而按照翻译中信，雅，
达的原则，按照中美大学普遍采用的职位名称的对应和其相对地位，其实 assistant
prof. 和 associate professor 都翻译成副教授， 比较达意， teaching assistant
是助教，lecturer 是讲师。assistant prof. 和 associate prof 两个职位的相对地
位都和中国的副教授层级比较接近。
我不相信他被聘为assis prof.是造假的， 而其他的CV上有些润色也很正常的。
我见过他两次，一次是来系里做学术报告，当时他应该还在微软，名声还没有后来大，
就是无数每周被邀请来作报告的外校学者之一吧，不过隐隐约约听说那个人是他的导师
，听说很为他自豪呢，心里想，哦，这个开复看来真是个牛人。

5个人在committee里，
A:distinguished prof.
B:full prof.
C:assoc prof.,search committee chair
D:assoc prof.外系，
E:me, an assis prof, up to tenure review this year.
还有一个研究生代表。
A有一个postdoc,record一般，他一路保着进了interivew list.但是此人因为CV比其他
人差太多，不可能rank第一。周一开会的时候我们定了第一。今天开会就是定下面的
rank,因为rank第一的人已经那了两个不错的offers.我们这个committe定下rank 2和以
后,提交给系主任和faculty meeting,任务就算完了。
B和A研究合作很多，整个review过程就不断摇摆，刚开始A说要postdoc在long list，

2/3/2012 把材料寄出去的，pp，TSC。
2/8/2012 晚上6点收到邮件。当时听说USCIS的系统有问题，会显示错误的状态，所以
一时未敢轻信这个结果，直到今天查看，状态依然是approved，所以才赶来发帖。
background：国内phd，来美postdoc两年半，材料相关领域，纳米材料与器件，太阳能
电池材料，导电材料等等。
paper：31，10 first author。
review：22 （同一篇稿子的第二次第三次审，我都给加上了）
citation：>400
claim了authorship，contribution和review。
PL写了14页，主要就是照着一些基本的模板走的，尽量以图表为主。RL是美国2，日本1
，德国1，香港1，还有就是自己的老板。其中一个independent也是一个新出的杂志的
associate editor，所以在准备推荐信时就用了一小段强调了一下审稿的问题。所有的
