有一个奇特的现象是首先需要提及的，那就是，对于陈寅恪先生这样一位具有独特学术
价值和历史地位的知识分子，现当代很多学者们连他的名字的准确发音都不清楚。这是
历史谜团，还是文化失落，抑或另有其他，我们不好先下断言。即：
不清楚他的名字是“陈寅恪（音：克）”还是“陈寅恪（音：却或怯）”？
但是，在我们和国内外学者们进行有关他的生平活动及其学术思想的讨论之时，又常常
为他的名字的准确读音到底是什么而争论不休。研究本世纪这样一位可以和史学大师王
国维先生并驾齐驱的、杰出的历史学家，不得不先从他的姓名读音开始，这实在是有点
不可思议。于是，只好先作此篇考证文章，对陈寅恪先生的名字、表字及别名等相关问
题，进行比较详细地考证，以正视听。
（一）、陈寅恪先生命名的由来
1890年7月3日，农历光绪十六年五月十七日，陈寅恪先生生于湖南长沙。此时父母住在
长沙周氏蜕园。“寅恪”之名乃祖母黄氏所起。其中，“恪”字为其父陈三立之子的排
行用字，“寅”字的由来又是从当年的农历纪年为庚寅年而来。
在十二生肖中寅为虎，因此古今寅年生人，以“寅”字或“虎”字命名者是一种传统的

The class will teach people how to use their voice effectively, which I

的意思是不是可以让director补写个invitation letter,这样有没有用？
现在journal review 有7,8篇，其他有8篇一级会议的，但是很多是认识的prefessor和
advisor当TPC直接写信问要不要review的，我想问如果补写invitation letter了，这
种review可不可以用。 |

you are a prefessor, who knows?
I know a lot of people did in that way after they backed to China. So I
cannot believe most of them. |

It is pretty easy to get an offer for EE master once you arrive the school
as F2. Talk directly to the professors one by one and you will find
financial support. It is difficult to get support without meeting the
prefessors in person. |

当时转校，也是因为我老板是韩国女老板，assistant prefessor，太工作狂人了，
最后受不了了，跟她决裂了。
本来以为一辈子不会跟她再有关系了，结果现在还要去联系系里，去drop课程。
