标 题: Stratford 哪个campus比较好？Washington Park or Pomeroy?

想听听有孩子在stratford学校，或者比较了解情况的朋友谈谈？
背景：我们已经注册了他们的Kindergardten 班，在Washington Park 的campus。
但是那天听朋友说，好像 他们在SANTA CLARA Pomeroy的campus 比较好。
搞得有点想转学。(这个手续上不难。我们还没开始。）
朋友说，
1.是学生组成比例上稍微比Washington Park的好一些，就是说印度人
少一些，diversity好一些。请问是否是这个状况？
我们看过Washington的那个，班里30个孩子，大概25个印度人，剩下
族群5个。的确很恐怖。
想知道 Pomeroy 这个campus 这个比例会好些吗？中国小孩多吗？

发帖数: 167 | 3 我们去看过Pomeroy的Kindergarten，看了一个班，感觉学生的比例还可以，印度学生
不少，但也不算绝大多数，也看到不少白人和中国的孩子。教室很敞亮，老师看上去也
还行。
没有去过Washington Park，听人说是印度孩子太多。我们还看过Los Gatos的site，那
边也很好，但是有点远，最后我们选的是Pomeroy。 |

看着大家的意见都挺倾向Pomeroy的，
我们实地看的情况也是那边的印度人相对而言少一些
所以我们已经决定转过去了。
有也是今年去Pomeroy campus的K班的家长，我们可以提前认识一下。

时候碰到的水管工都是印度人。整个一个印度师大附小弯曲分校。 Pomeroy那个好歹老
师大部分不是印度人，学生里面非印也多一些。 |

看黑压压的印度人，第二天就把孩子转过来了。
去Morningstar走路就过去了，非常方便。有时候在Stratford上chess class, 上完后
chess老师就送过晨星了。 |

觉De Anza Park这边的宽敞一些，老师也不全是印度人，但听说Washington Park的最
好，去参观感觉没有那么好。交通方面Pomeroy的离家里最近。有没有父母可以给个建
议？多谢了。 |

Winchester两处还有地方。这两个Campus哪个好啊？没去参观过Pomeroy的校园，只去过
Winchester那里的，挨着一大片墓地 :-( |

发帖数: 28 | 18 周六去的pomeroy. 堵车比平时多花30分钟，排队进去花了30分钟，排队出去花了70分
钟。80%以上华人。黄樱桃还是不错的，大家也很遵守秩序，只是人实在多了点，以后
还是抽空weekday去别家了。pomeroy因为weekday不开，樱桃还剩不少。应该能撑过周
日。周一就可能比较困难了. 园主说今年收成只是比去年好一点点。周六早上8点开门
的，下午2点后到的就不让排队了。

发帖数: 351 | 19 你这一看就是没去看过harker的。harker是这些学校里唯一控制种族比例招生的，公立
私立都没有这么控制的。班里有一半左右的白人，剩下的各个族裔，印度和中国都就几
个而已。
stratford在pomeroy的那个校区（就在sunnyvale边上）很多中国人，去年k班一个班起
码有5，6个。其它的stratford校区印度人起码去年看确实是非常多，我看的一个几乎
80%是印度人。但是pomeroy那个s附近要开它自己的高中了，后年就开。所以如果是追
求平价私立的，几乎是最好的选择了。sunnyvale自己虽然没有私立，但是离santa
clara, mountain view 都近，这些地方challenger stratford好几个。说白了就是
location location location. 离得近就是优点。
上pa当然也可以选私立，但是拿出3，4个米买房的，还有多少钱供俩娃私立呢？而且pa
的私立可比s难考多了，像你说的，非富即贵，s的私立从k上的话，我还不知道谁想考
没考进的。

理想的是住 santa clara 的 cupertino 学区房就是 eisenhower 小学的小初高全10分
学区，然后送娃去附近的 stratford pomeroy 校区，中国人比例好一些。这样呢，既
住好学区，neighborhood好，而且还可以送中国人比例好一些的私立。
实在不行，买 santa clara 的烂学区，也可以送 stratford pomeroy 校区，而且
appleseed 主校区也在那附近，还开了私立小学。不但上幼儿园方便，上小学也方便哦。 |

Apple
seed Montessori。地点主要是在Sunnyvale一带。
在Statford网站上看到这几个campus：

有经验的妈妈可不可以说一下哪个学校好？如果是stratford，哪个campus比较好？

，怎么感觉Washington Park的最不好？小孩除了印度人绝多之外，老师（至少是
Preschool）也全是印度人。Preschool的Playground是De Anza的那个最好，又大格局
又好，Washington Park的那个很小。 |

发帖数: 214 | 34 小男娃明年上k,正在考虑上私立还是公立. 在加洲南湾,所以准备考察一般的私利如
Stratford, Challenger之类.(那种门槛高的就算了,咱家娃肯定考不上).
娃懂事晚,基本就知道玩,不太喜欢学习,academics 实在有点弱(属于1+2搞不清那种,字
母也好多基本不会认).
加洲的公校小学实在太水,我担心小朋友学业实在太落后,我们IT双职工挺忙,怕没有太
多精力给娃有效率的辅导,想送私立学校,多借助私校的学习系统帮助.
各位有经验的私校家长怎么看?我现在主要担心
1) 我们这种去了私校能跟得上么?
2) 去了私校怎么交朋友,培养social圈子--虽然学校离家也不远,但毕竟不是home
school,可能熟人不多.
另外,大家对南湾的私立小学有啥推荐,我们准备看看stratford at pomeroy,据说老印
还不是特别多(虽然也是很多).还有其他哪些可以看看? |

2 American teachers. His class is mixed with Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese,
Hispanic and Caucasians. I heard SVL campus is 90% Indians.
You have to hurry. Pre-K are full for the fall season already. My friend
can't get in even though she tried to apply in Feb. |

Indian. The preschool principal there doesn't sound very well experienced.
The principal at the De Anza Park Stratford is impressive. How about the De
Anza one? I am choosing between this one and the Pomeroy site.

Washington park. Pomeroy preschool principal is pretty experienced too. But
the teacher in your son's room is who really matters here.

发帖数: 89 | 50 谢谢诸位的回复。看了Santa Clara Pomeroy 的 Stratford， 很喜欢 campus 和老师
，只是担心 academic 不够强。
看了 Sunnyvale 的 Challenger School，觉得教室很拥挤，大部分是烙印老师，总觉
得 Literature 应该是白人教:-)，但很喜欢 Principle (Headmaster).
看了 Strawberry Park 的 Challenger， 很和我的要求，但 review 很差。
我家小朋友很喜欢 Stratford, 不知道是不是因为容易。要是为了容易，宁愿送到公校
，也是800 多分的学校, 还省钱了哪。
请各位高人指点，多谢。 |
