if they don't have access to lab tests and machines (ECG, X-ray, ultrosound, CT
, MRI, PET, etc.).
If they only have some basic tools, like stethscope, they can't work. So
many physicians in the developing countries can still help patients without
relying on advanced tools.

nose irrigation, 1 teaspone noniodine salt (6g) + 1 teaspone soda + 500ml
distilled waster. mix and inject slowly with 10ml syringe into nose, once /
twice a day or as needed.

简直就是抢钱！记得那天去ER，医生先让我们等了很久，然后就来看了一眼，后来连人也找不到了，好像下班了，后来是换了一个医生来说没事可以走了。这样也敢收400多，这个正常吗？简直要把我气死了。。。
有经验的说说吧。我都感觉这简直就是骗钱啊！
请教大家，这个账单不负有后果吗？实在咽不下这口气啊！！！

我是男生，想做一些常规体检，此外和老婆决定想要孩子，想知道自己的身体状况是不
是合适，
我的保险是UHC的choice plus，具体没仔细看，但是好像大部分的检查是都cover的
刚才试着在UHC的网站上找provider，但是没搞明白是在Family Practice还是internal
medicine, 还是Primary care physicans里面找。。
如果大家有好的医生能否推荐一下，最好是在曼哈顿，这样离工作地点近一些。。

请教一个保险claim过期的问题。我去年12月的时候做了一个lab test, provider是in-
network的。由于我的保险hospital和physican/lab是分开2个不同的公司，一开始lab
向hospital的公司claim了，然后被拒了。由于我去的时候留了信用卡信息，所以他们
就charge到我的信用卡上了。我给他们打了电话，告知了正确的保险公司信息，然后他
们就说可以向保险公司claim,然后就给我refund的了。之后我也就没有留意这件事。补

了因为超过了规定的日期。保险公司说我的responsibility是0，因为是lab的错，他们

发帖数: 64 | 26 两个多月前才在Kaiser Santa Clara homestead 生了娃，剖腹产，付了500的住院费，
住了4天。单独的房间，nurse很好，不知道是不是因为register的时候填了primary
language是chinese，值班的nurse基本上都是华裔，很好沟通。
1.kaiser的医生都在kaiser那几个楼里面吗?感觉装不下那么多各科的医生呀.
kaiser的医生都在kaiser的医院里，santa clara homestead是很大的，反正医生都装
里头了^^
2.是不是一般PPO的医生都不在kaiser list里?
kaiser的plan只可以选kaiser医院里的医生，应该是和ppo的医生不重合的。不过
kaiser最好的就是妇产科和儿科，医生都不错。
3.每次去看OB都要primary care physican refer吗? 还是第一次refer以后就不用了?
不用primary physician refer，直接在网上自己选择OB，可以网上make appointment
，自己去就好了，每次copay只要5块钱。

能tenure，没有tenure就没有garantee的life～
但是，每一步都是他自己的选择～
他原本可以去一个没有那么competitive的school做research，一个RO1或许足够他在那
些小学校拿到tenure，他为了自己的梦想，为了成功选择去了一个top school （我猜
的）？我猜，一个RO1还不足以满足他对自己的要求？
我理解的，这个author是个非常anxious的personality，他对自己的要求非常高～ 你
从他的文字可以体会到他无时不刻不在焦虑自己的未来，career和发展。
即使笔者 是个surgeon，他多半也会拼尽全力去当department chair，或者科室的
chief，他就算是个start-up，也会想办法把公司做的更大... 因为，他对自己的high-
standards，他会把自己折腾的很累,笔者太焦虑了...
我相信，任何学校做生物科研的，总有一群faculty每天朝9晚5，依然可以拿到足够的

sue physicans/nurses instead of patients themselves. Don't picking family
members, what my favortie teacher told me.
Sometimes if we able to do tiny thing for family members ,it will make a big
difference. One time, I got a report from day shift RN and told me the
patient's wife was really demanding and difficult to deal with. This couple
came from other state, and the patient got brain damage from a car accident.

year. physican called in hydroxyzine prn, but i took it as hydralazine.
since i know they are sound-alike drugs, i looked up the pt's profile.
ironically, the pt did have HTN. so i let it fly. fortunately, the pt was a
very careful pt and read insert for new rx all the time. so she called the
same night and got the drug changed.
i guess the catch here is hydralazine is very rarely prn outpatient.

讲这话的, 就算生过, 自己肯定没带过小孩. Every program has different policy.
有些宽松, 有些很严格. 严格按ACGME POLICY, 四周产假, 就算把整年假期都加一起,
共8周. 8周后, 除非你不管交给父母带, 或有住家丈夫, 停止母乳喂养.
如果没人全职带, 找NANNY, 不仅贵, 而且回家后还要自己带, 送day care, 第一年基
本有1/5-1/4时候, 送不了. 所以只能在日托基础上再找NANNY.
有的科对在ELECTIVE 在家看孩子, 睁一眼闭一眼, 有的很严. 许多会要求 extension
of residency.
Residents are real co-workers, if one person is out, the others have to pick
up the slack. Attendings are not that strictly related.

Chinese patients do need extra time, because they need more help and more
attention!
Every CMG trained in States understands that there is a huge gap between
Chinese and American medical systems. Chinese patients have to overcome this
gap to seek their medical care in this country.
This is a natural responsibility, by blood, for every Chinese physician
practising in this country to provide care and EDUCATION to his/her Chinese

do NOT do it, if you are a resident.
Be very careful, if you are an attending physician already.
There is no Elixir. Physican who prescribes medicine should be reponsible
for all outcomes for that medicine. if you are a resident, your attending is
the one.
Educate patient, he will understand it. |
