rumored 24mm f/1.4 Art lens and a new 14-24mm f/4 with OS. The 24mm lens
will be priced at $1,099 and the 14-24mm will be $1,199. The 14-24mm will
have an 82mm filter ring.
After the success of the 35mm f/1.4 and 50mm f/1.4 Art versions, a new 24mm
lens would be the next logical step. There were also rumors for a new 85mm f

"This has been a hard lens to pin down, likely because it’s still a long
way off, with the expected announcement in August/September 2018 ahead of
Photokina.
We reported last month that the lens was going to be a 50mm equivalent for
APS-C and that it was going to be fast.
We rate this information in two parts.
The [CR3] Part:
The lens will have a focal length of 32mm and won’t have IS.
The [CR2] Part:
The speed of the lens I haven’t been able to nail down with 100% certainty

moved closer to Photokina in September, and delivery along with it. That
puts 3 lenses in the mix for announcement at Photokina, the EF 16-35mm f/2.
8L III, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II and EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II. We also expect
to see the EOS 5D Mark IV announced.
Delays with lens launches happen a lot, as production is always challenging.

Panasonic will announce a new entry level MFT camera by end of August (no
GH5!)
Olympus will announce the E-PL8 in early September.
It is still unclear if the GH5 and E-M1II will be both introduced at
Photokina. If I would take a guess the GH5 will be announced a couple of
months after Photokina and the E-M1II will still be announced at Photokina
but ship in early 2017."

相机和光学产业的重心早已移到了日本和亚洲。
过去很长一段时间，最重要的展会依旧是美国的PMA和德国的Photokina，那是因为传统
主要市场还在欧美，需要一个平台给经销商和客户。日本纵然有PIE，也不过是作为产
品展示，很少作为重要产品发布的平台。
现在明显这个主要市场在被以中国为首的亚太地区市场所取代。这样基本上研发/生产/
市场整个链条都在亚洲了，更不要说各种附件了。
所以日本今年撤销PIE，重新包装推出CP+绝对是别有用心的。日本厂商也自然积极配合
，Canon早就宣布退出PMA；Sony带着空壳子来PMA把正式产品亮相放到CP+；Pentax退出
PMA，把重点产品645D的发布留给CP+；Nikon在PMA没有新机器宣布，很可能也是留到CP
+。所以日本的CP+会在很快的时间内取代PMA和Photokina，而成为相机光学产业最大的
展会。而美欧市场，则搞个live blog转播一下在日本的发布会即可了。
从更大的层面上看，美欧需要人干活的产业会更加衰落。Pentax不参加PMA的一个原因
就是成本太高 |

The Coming EF-M Prime to be 50mm Equivalent for APS-C EOS M [CR2]
We’re told that the EF-M prime coming later this year will be a “50mm
equivalent” and “fast”. If we had to guess, it’s going to be en EF-M
35mm (56mm equivalent) f/1.4 or /1.8. We know for sure that it’s not a 30mm
lens and that it’ll be faster than f/2. We don’t know if it’ll have IS
at this time.

I am a fairly high volume sales person of Pentax gear at a Camera Store in
Canada, but I do know the staff of Pentax well enough on a first name basis.
I also buy factory direct for all my personal gear. (to validate my rumors)
I asked today when I should sell my K7 off, the answer was that I would want
their newest toy in October. Just around Photokina, but in time for Xmas.
