When I got my offers from pharmaceutics and neuroscience, I consulted with
an insider in Pfizer about how to
choose offers. He told me I should choose pharmaceutics for sure if I wanna
work in big pharm unless my
neuroscience offer was from top 20. But I didn't choose pharmaceutics or
pharmaceutical sciences at last.
Now I have a SFN mentor from Pfizer and he told me that I still have a
chance to get into the big pharms but I

药理在美国和国内不一样，在这边药理的研究方向往往很基础，和其他的生物专业没有
本质区别，都难找工作，比如cellular, molecular, experimental之类的，甭管是挂
在医学院还是药学院学下面。药学院下面还有个专业叫药学，相对更实用些。但是研究
方向也要看具体的实验室。总之，越偏生物的偏基础的越难找工作。前面有人说了，
PKPD药代动力学是这个专业里目前来看出路比较好的。Formulation也还成。Clin
pharmacology不错，但是专门做这个的不多，而且不一定招学生，有的经常是些PharmD
毕业后去做fellow。实验室的研究方向你可以在系里网站上看到。作为药理背景，申请
药学系不是问题。

Association，中美医药开发协会)组织的会议，来的基本都是中国人，不少来自国内企
业，比如恒瑞，也有一些是Abbott，J&J，Teva公司里的中国人。借这个机会跟工业界
的前辈们交流，觉得还是有一些收获的。于是把感想归纳以下几点：
1.
化学药研发持续萎靡，主要原因是：1，创新瓶颈，R&D成本上升而产品减少；2，专利
悬崖，大量专利过期，generic drugs对brand drugs的 围追堵截。这几年Big Pharm的
日子很难过，只能不断裁员缩减成本。Merck就把几乎整个合成部门砍掉，几千号地裁

现在学化学的，大概80%的祖孙三代要倒霉。
2007年以后才开始读博士的，如果学有机，已经是白痴。90%的祖宗八代子孙后代都倒
了血霉。
2014年还在学有机合成的，99.9%的祖宗八代子孙后代都要倒血霉。80年代的有机土博美
国制药工作N年，55岁回国挣大钱操小妞的（张江药谷的听说过没有？），不算，人家
那是80年代学的化学。
