suburb of Philly. If you drive from Pgh to Philly, you will pass by KoP after
getting off turnpike. Rumor says the big shopping mall there is arguablly the
second biggest of US, behind American Mall of MN. |

Burgh). Their teachers were the worst among the 3 daycare centers (in Pgh)
my kid went to. We don't like their style, not only daycare teachers but
also many people in JCC. (Many Americans we consulted told us the same thing
but we didn't realize until our kid went there.)
A few years ago, they even had retarded person as teacher. But they changed
the daycare center director a couple years ago. |

A week or two single digit days in a typical winter. But it is different
year by year.
Driving is Okay on major roads unless major winter storms hit. (when many
people will just stay inside any way)
Chinese population is not big comparing to big cities, typical mid-sized US
city population.

But many people have their reasons to prefer Pittsburgh.

UPenn and Temple are right in downtown, which is not considered safe area at
all. But I haven't heard any terrible stories from Chinese students/
scholars. Areas in some suburbs like Valley Forge, West Chester are pretty
good.
In Pgh, not many people are willing to even walk in hazelwood area or hill
district after sunset.
So, there are good areas and bad areas in most cities.

Liberty Ave, especially if you have a Toyota. I used them for over 3
years until I left Pgh this year. My car is now 8 years old. |

I have been using their services for at least 5 years. My car was not
bought there but I found their services are pretty good. I tried many other
garages before using them. None of the garages is reasonable, and they
typically
do very poor work. The worst one was Pepboys on Center Ave. near Oriental
Seafood.

Very good food and wonderful view. It is at the top of a tall building on Mt
. Washington. You can view the whole downtown Pgh there.
Drive up Mt. Washington from Liberty Tubes/Bridge, turn right (left was the
sightviewing place). Go down the road about 1-2miles, the restaurant is on
your left. You can look it up in Yellow page. It has 2 locations one is in
Monroeville but the one on Mt. Washington is better. |

For PA tax, PA-40, for pittsburgh tax, PGH-40
you need to attach your w-2, photocopy of your visa, support letter, etc.
Occupation tax is a speical kind of tax. It is almost impossible to get it
returned. Forget it. |
