years you are only around 60, those living benefits are probably not much
use for you, in my view, no need to go after them.
Also, if you will have lots of money after 30 years, and you will leave some
legacy to your kids anyway, then you better don't touch the death benefit,
leave it to your children, tax free. |

the first phone last week, and another company's software system engineer
onsite interview 10 days away (they will be moving office next week), they
are doing large scale distributed application. I am pretty interested in
both positions, but would not like lose the offer.

1. use the freaking spell check. 不敢想象巨多的typo 在各种正式的通讯中。很多
人竞争的时候绝对是eyesore.
2. Don't be stupid. Phd的位置上很多人都有DUI, misdemeanor, petty theft,甚至
家暴。好多都是20多岁的时候一脑热，终身遗憾。
3. 以往的薪水历史太重要了，我们招的这个位置薪水从70到150k,以前的薪水决定我们
offer多少，有几个要加薪跨度太大的被HR直接据了。
4. 内推的唯一作用就是能早知道位置出来了，能不能成还得看经历和经验。但我们这
里是有合适的就叫过来面试，差不多就offer了，我们下offer后有再好的也没用了，所
以给找工作的打打气，有的时候真不是水平竞争不过，运气不好而已
5. 生物本科的美国人也苦逼，好多毕业几年找不到工作，在jc penny, chick filla
什么的打工，四处投简历，will do anything. |

房贷公司quicken loan. 他们有个经纪叫Jerry，服务挺好的， 每次我发邮件都很快回
复。开始的时候我做的是35万的pre-approval。然后就到处搜房， 但是因为没确定在
哪个区买， 什么价位的， 而且经济前景不太明朗， 到处都在裁员， 所以看了很久也
没啥要买的冲动。
09年三月的时候， 又提起精神来了。 看好了一个地区， Dix Hills，学区是Half
Hollow Hills。问了周围的朋友， 都说这个学区好， 高中好， 全美排名前列。虽然
比不上Jerricho， 但是也算很好的区了。 何况Jericho那么贵的房子， 我也负担不起
啊。

dix hills新出来的房子。找了个Weichort的经纪， 叫Petty。她领我和老婆去看了好

作为主人，邀请伊朗总统内贾德去做演讲，在主持仪式上骂人家“Mr. President, you
exhibit all the signs of a petty and cruel dictator,”话可以这么说，可是说
的场合太不恰当了。
说人家内贾德是dictator，人家可是选上去的。至于怎么选的，至少是选民投票的，怎
么可能是dictator呢？这跟朝鲜，跟古巴是不一样的，那里是终身制。
邀请了客人，然后在公开场合羞辱客人，难道这就是美国哥大校长的待客之道？是的，
校长呈了口舌之快，却失去了作为主人所该采取的姿态。
幸亏不在是UM的校长。而且，此Bollinger在UM校长任期没完成，就跳槽，而且走的匆
忙，在当时让UM很被动，他实施的很多计划不得不中断，很多校方人员对他很气愤。

法律条文参看NJSA 2C:18-3b, 属于petty disorderly persons offense。[2]
一般的判决是$500以内的罚款，30天以内的jail，而且无犯罪记录的一般不会坐牢。[3]
对于闯机场的，其他一些州相关判例从罚款$25加community service到罚款500加坐五个
周末的牢不等，注意，是周末，不是五周。[4]
所以，喊着严惩的同学们，歇歇吧，不顾同胞感情就罢了，法律在这摆着。

一般从出国到最后寻找人生事业的落脚点，有一个时滞，这个时滞基本上是5年上下（
短的就是辍学了，长的就是久攻不下）；5年，对于个人来说，乍一看好像还没什么，
对于时局把握来说，那可以发生翻天覆地的变化。90年代末出国的人，到毕业的时候（
2003年之后）选择硅谷创业的人已经不多（web2.0能吸收一点），更多的跑到了华尔街
里面，干了几年，就是金融风暴，而90年代末正是本系列文章刚刚起笔的时刻，而到

中国从去年以来就没有发布过有关资本出入情况的报告，但借助周六发布的贸易数
据、外汇储备数据和其他经济统计资料，仍可评估后来的资金流动情况。根据《华尔街

之前市场曾一度担忧中国经济增速正在大幅放缓，在长时期经历了9%-10%的高增长率之
后，分析师预计中国经济今年的增速将低于8%，一些评论员甚至担忧中国经济可能进一
步下滑。但从进来分析师对中国经济预期的修正来看，明年的经济增速将高于8%。
对中国经济前景看法发生改变的背后是政府推出的新一轮经济刺激措施。自夏季以来，
刺激政策已经扭转了上半年中国经济放缓的势头。恢复对中国经济的乐观看法表明市场
认为中国新一届政府将维持财政刺激，或者届时全球经济的反弹将重新启动中国的出口
引擎。
但这两种假设都存在瑕疵。
抛开中国最近的刺激政策是为秋季的新领导人换届做铺垫不说，未来还将推出多少刺激
政策尚不清楚。而事实上，北京进来发出的信号似乎是新一届领导人已经意识到进行经
济结构调整，让经济从不可持续的投资拉动型增长向消费推动型增长转变的必要性。

）。网络传输速度对bid／ask报价的准度影响也很大，对街上的还有大fund来说，真的
是“毫秒”值万金。你眼前的bid/ask，还有last，很多时候不可信，尤其是liquidity
高的像aapl这种。你如果不设limit，千万别指望market order能给你卖个好价。don't
