最早就没有36000-37000的死亡数字，死缠硬搅的离奇维只能找到最常见的33000多的数
字。
最初引起长期混乱的基本原因也是比较清楚的，下面的报道也有提及。最早公布的死亡
是先陈述了因敌对引起的死亡（died from hostile action）之类的数据，然后列出“
其它死亡”一类的数据作为韩战伤亡统计数据陈列的一部分。对此，长期的理解是那些
“其它死亡”与韩战有关。
5万4这个数字曾经深入人心。
1993年版的大英百科全书第6卷第963页仍然用那个数字：“The Korean War resulted
in the deaths of about ...; and about 54,000 Americans..."
1997年版的The World Book Encyclopedia在J-K卷的第384用的是“54,246”

终于读完了Edwin Chen的“Deadly Scholarship“，一本讲卢刚和爱荷华大学枪击
案的书。
我始终认为，学术圈的人要了解学术圈的事，就像合格的公民应该了解政治和历史
一样。国内的博士，就该去深挖09年浙大海归博士自杀；加拿大的博士，就该知道
Concordia大学机械系枪击案；北美的博士，就该去熟识1991年的卢刚爱荷华大学枪击
案。
Deadly Scholarship上来就讲山林华。从网上和书上看到山林华的照片，第一眼印
象就是他是个天才善良的好人，或者说他是让人一眼看到就能想到天使的人，让人一看
到就不会同意那篇刘予建"万圣悲魂"里面千方百计渲染的对于卢刚的同情的人。如果卢
刚像"万圣悲魂"或者刘烨演的电影"Dark Matter"里面那样正义的话，他怎么会杀害照
片上这样一个纯真的人呢？

的理想。大三大四忙于考G考托，专业课学习放松了，影响了GPA，直接失去了进入美国
Top 20院校物理系的资格。我选择了提前毕业去香港中文大学读有奖学金的硕士，希望
以此为跳板，再续留学美国名校的梦想。在实验室搞了两年物理实验，拿了硕士学位，
却彻底失去了继续攻读物理的兴趣。于是2004年9月我卷了铺盖来到北京，经过一段痛
