发帖数: 575 | 2 最近公司SQL server 从SQL 2005 32bit upgrade 到SQL 2008 64bit。application是
delphi写的windows application.突然发现performance downgrade厉害。现在的RAM有
60多GB。硬盘，CPU都没有到bottleneck. 也排除了network (SAN)的问题。The database has been reindexed and update statistics also. 唯一我觉得
有点疑问的是local harddrive and SAN are both RAID5.但是我们硬件工程师不认为
这是个问题。所以拒绝改成RAID 0 or RAID 1.wom我们装RAID 10也不可能。
现在很困惑，到底是什么让这个performance downgrade?大家有什么意见？有没有谁用
2008 64 bit也有类似performance issue?

which takes forever to execute. After more than 1 hour now it is still
spinning. however if I run the exactly the same code within developer
without using package, the performance is totally different, and it just

Before JIT was introduced, Java was interpreted. Its performance

子，主要是说，这个目标，必须是要能评估，量化的东西。比如说，AP accountant今
年要熟悉系统的某个模块。Sr accountant每个月末关帐都meet deadline等等。我们的
手册是针对审计的，所以可能和会计不太一样。这几个例子也是我随便举的，所以只是
给您参考参考。哦，对了，我们还有personal development goal。比如说CPA考了几门
啊？参加了什么培训啊，学习了什么心技能什么的。
performance review的正常流程是，年初的时候manager和下属坐下来讨论今年的目标
是什么，制定目标和计划。年中的时候见个面，讨论一下目标的进度。年底的时候，根
据目标的完成情况，评估当年的表现。

偶尔点到网页边的广告知道有种东西叫performance chip。说能提高马力降低油耗降低
排放污染。然后搜了下review，有篇review就推荐一个品牌别的都很烂。然后有个英文
的论坛说，performance chip就是个骗局，别信那些review，都是托。
刚看chip的广告的时候，提高MPG4~7，还挺心动的。

DOE有好几个unclassified: INCITE, ASCR Leadership, SciDAC
DARPA也有HPCS(High productivity computing systems), UHPC (Ubiquitous high performance computing), OHPC (Omnipresent high performance computing) 等项目
DARPA的UHPC ($76m) 已经分了25m 给了nVidia, Cray 及6个学校, 其馀的给了Intel+SGI联盟(Intel自己也要出49m).. OHPC则是$3m per project

描述的感觉好像你要比developer高人一等，和research lab一样，其实就是个perf QA
，一般的QA对functionality就行测试， perf就是对产品进行perf 测试，那个所谓的
“performance analysis“， ”performance debugging“其实就是把QA组的功能测试
变成perf测试。
我认识好几个在perf组实习后，后来全都找了developer工作。
许多startup公司，厉害一点的VP见了这种简历后，就知道coding肯定不行，一般都不
会要，然后只能在大公司里熬啊熬的，许多人做了几年后，就转到临近的develop组去
了。 |
