用英语来讲，好像是“arch”，
像中世纪前最大的建筑，伊斯坦布尔的圣索菲亚大教堂，就是一个个连续的石头“arch
”组合起来，合成巨大的穹顶。
但是中国古代没有这个复杂的技术，只会造单一的拱，如拱桥，而当时大型木建筑必须
靠大柱子来支撑，但是柱子多了，还是造不出大教堂那种巨大空旷的穹顶，因为下面有
一堆柱子立着很难看，不实用。像大型的太和殿，室内也是不得不立上柱子。
所以中国的柱子支撑的木结构屋子不会建的特别大。

据我所知，中国古代没有发展任何Pendentive穹顶的形式。这种形式也是楼主所说的圣
索非亚大教堂和其他中世纪教堂的基本形式。最大的石砌穹顶的纪录始终由佛罗伦萨的
玛丽亚教堂保持，其就是Pendentive穹顶（有点点小变体，不细说）。但是从纯技术的
角度来看，pendentive 并不是合理的；为了艺术上的层次和光线，将结构作了迭合。
就像楼上说的，中国的拱券发展技术上成熟较早，汉代墓室已使用（应包括前不久的曹
操墓）但基本没有生活化，更谈不上艺术化。后来应用仅扩展到城门和桥梁上使用。一
个题外话是，作为墓室城门桥梁的拱券在技术上要求更高，不仅需考虑覆土和交通等多
于屋顶的荷载， 在施工上比其房屋要困难。所以单纯技术来说，跨度，荷载，和施工
中国的拱券技术是不差的。
剩下的艺术层面就是仁者见仁了。需要说明的是，艺术上的杰出并不必然技术上合理。
圣索非亚大教堂Pendentive穹顶并非技术上完成跨度的最佳选择，天坛祈年殿的斗拱组
合的机构冗余也是显然的，但都不影响它们作为杰出艺术品的价值。 |

他给我们的报价是11k。包括重做整个厨房，包括改煤气、水电的线路，把半面墙的
fireplace的砖打掉一部分然后从新包。做整个屋子（kitchen+family room）的crown
molding，baseboard。做一共10个recess light，wire pendent light over the
kitchen island, 重铺地板（实木+marble或者tile）
。平移一个窗户。重新paint整个屋子的墙壁和屋顶。
其中我们要买的是cabinet+nobs，sink，faucet，appliance，floor material（
hardwood & marble/tile），countertop，pendent light。包fireplace的marble。其他
的他包工包料
了。
根据他原来的报价，地板的工钱只有300，（8000 for kitchen, 2000 for fireplace,
1000 for everything else)。这样下来我们要不要让他重新计算。还是等最后结帐的

但你所说其为了层次和光线做的妥协则不能简单归之于艺术
中国的拱券多用在墓室城门或是藏书之类场所
而此类场所与人居最大的区别就是对采光的要求
考虑采光纵置拱券则进深不足，横置则开窗不便 |

Form 8843” 时，下面有提示说"DO NOT include children who were born in the U

也就是说孩子不需要填写 8843 表？
下一页显示了我太太为spouse,然后下面还有个dependent的选项，当我试图add a
dependent时，里面的国籍选项没有United States,而且“Dependent's Date of
Arrival in the U.S. *:” 是必须填写的项目。
所以这么看来，孩子不需要8843表？
问题2：
我能claim child as dependent 么？因为多一个的话可以多些exemption.
