You may ask to see whatever in the camera (of still photos or video), but
the answer is expected to be no. It is prosecutor's job, in court, to share
evidence with a defendant. Most important it is likely there is no monitor
in the patrol car to watch the content of camera.
What good is it for a police officer to allow you a peek of Camera content?

俺有过一模一样的经历。从daycare接了孩子出来，刚把孩子buckle up，随手一
关门，发现悲剧了：车门锁了，钥匙在车里，而俺家娃在car seat里buckled up。
俺家娃当时2岁半，还完全不明白怎么回事，一点都不紧张，还跟俺玩Peek-a-boo。
（俺在气候宜人的加州，当时是秋天的傍晚，天气不冷不热。）
幸亏当时就在daycare门口，马上找了校长，俺当时的意思是让校长给个黄页，电话
叫锁匠。但校长说这事事关小孩子，可以叫firefighter，而且附近1 mile以内
正好有个fire station。于是校长马上打电话叫firefighter，他们5分钟以内
就到了。俺为了保险起见，还电话了至少5个锁匠，结果最快回电话的锁匠都是10
分钟之后了，充分说明训练有素的firefighter真不是白给的，同时切实感到为什么
firefighter那么受人尊敬，在此再次致敬！继续。。。firefighter来了以后，
俺马上提议说如果锁不好开，可以砸车窗。但firefighter说现在车内温度正常，
