10/09一整天都被最后准备材料，填表格弄得身心疲惫，生怕忘了什麽东西。上班啥正事
也没干，老板说啥我都推到周一去了。下午五点飞机，三点觉得准备就绪，就在西西河客
栈和几位在线的神侃， 心情其实不好。因为前几天没有CJ方面的消息，觉得没什麽人去
那边签了。虽说是签H1，还是觉得没把握。
5点飞机，中间转Dallas，晚10：30到El Paso。我用了宝宝庄梁老板的服务，所以梁老板
准时在机场把我接到。上车看到另一签友，从哈佛来的学建筑的。他9点多飞机就到了，
和梁老板在机场等我一个多小时，在这里说声抱歉。上车才知道，明天用梁老板服务的有
8个人签，7个老中，一个老黑（女）。梁老板说不喜欢做外国人生意，下不为例了。我有
点意外，愿以为只有H1才敢来El Paso签证。原来7个老中只有两个是H1。
晚上，梁老板把我们俩安顿到Travelodge，又回去给我们做了晚饭送过来。梁老板回去前
，给我俩讲了讲形势，以及一些注意事项。有几点值得后来人借鉴吧。一个是签证时的态
度，不要被签证官吓住，因为有时签证官故意制造恐怖气氛，让你乱了分寸。不卑不亢吧

有一次我们收到从city of el paso寄来的parking ticket,我打电话过去看到底是怎么
搞的，我刚说从来没去过el paso，就被主动告之是wrong record，车牌的两个digits
were transposed。估计你们也是这种情况。打电话说清楚情况就好啦，没什么大不了
的哈。

做过coors , miller $15/100的同学都应该知道这个form的好。
Goes to Bridgeport，是clearing house 的名称，处理这些rebate的中心有很多，大
家经常埋怨的cms也是其中之一，不过口碑不好。但是像el paso, bridgeport之类的，
就特别好。速度快，miss掉的机率非常小。一般经常做rebate的，都是看那些处理中心
，像bud light, landshark之类的都寄到el paso, miller, coors之类的都是
bridgeport处理

Ph.D.毕业后没有回去过，但是学生时期的几次签证都比较顺利。
因为离El Paso不远，开车几个小时就到了，决定先签了证再回去。
3月底预约了4月17日上午8点。最近比较忙，到了4月16日下午整理
材料时才发现Banamex是早上9点才开门，而我预约的时间是8点……
都有点不想去了。不过最终晚上开车到El Paso的一家Motel 6住下。
因为银行开门开门，17日早上也不急着过去，8点前开车到Santa Fe
桥边的停车场停下($3)，花$0.35走过桥，过了境花$10打的到领事馆。
在领事馆附近晃了一下，老老实实走到Banamex银行等开门交钱。
开始银行没有开门，就到Burger King买了杯咖啡坐了几分钟，等到
回来发现银行门口居然有十几个人在排队……还好大家都比较快，
我交钱拿到收据后赶紧花$5打的到领事馆，H1b是3号口，警卫看到我
预约了当天的就让我进了，没有看具体时间，白白担心了一晚。
花$5存了包，过安检，发现里面竟然是open air的大棚……先是检查
材料和发号，要一份DS156,一份DS157，I-7 |

里程又创新低，唉，没办法，有被扣住了两三个小时。
昨天计划的的换油、探洞、走沙，住到Arizona这四项只完成了1/4。早上一早去Wal-Mart
换油，人家把我车收拾干净了，轮胎气压也调整好了，最后才发现，他们没有六个缸的帕
萨特所用的oil filter，只好做罢，看看沿路哪里可以再换，结果到El Paso后找了两家都
没有oil filter，奇了怪了，以前是怎么换油的，难道都没换oil filter |

和Ozona。上面有人提到的边境检查站在El Paso东，回CA时在El Paso西，都是I-10正线停车。回CA在州界还有农业检查站，也是正线停车，你的水果最好全保存在肚里。当年我被扣了一袋苹果，但加州产的橙子放行了。 |

车上坐了6个人，大家带的行李都不多，倒也不算拥挤。
历时6天，从2013年12月27至2014年1月1日，跨越四个州，CA-AZ-TX-NM，全程

Paso Airport and Las Cruces. They can send you to NMSU with a little extra
cost.
You can also contact NMSU Chinese students and scholars association. Usually

开回旅店，吃过早饭，又继续赶路，因为时间的原因，我们临时改变了行程，去
了白沙公园以后就打算直接先去TEXAS境内的Guadalupe 国家公园。 New Mexico 的天
气真的很好，天很蓝，空气很干燥，如果在车内，就好像是回到了灿烂的加州一样，很
温暖很明亮。沿25大约开了一个半小时就到了白沙国家公园，刚开始沿途还有一些连绵
的植被，越往里面开，植物越少也越矮，慢慢的变的稀疏起来，我们在Dune Life
Nature Trail的地方下来，这是一个1 埋长的环路，环路的开始是植物和沙丘交接处，
慢慢的往里面走就是一望无际的白色的沙丘，连绵不绝。这里的沙子真的很白，不戴墨
镜都会觉得非常的刺眼。偶尔间沙地上还可以看到各种小动物爬过地脚印，很有意思。
白沙真正的成份是gypsum ，二水合硫酸钙，也就是我们统称的石膏，易溶解，一
般存在于海洋或者湖泊当中。几百万年前，这里曾经是海底，由于地壳变动的原因，这
里成为了平原，融化的积雪和降雨將远处高山上的这种矿物质帶下來到此国家公园西南

问题，主要是夕阳的时候比较好，EL PASO到白沙才一个多小时的路。20号早点出发玩
那个呱嗒鲁普山，和那个溶洞国家公园没问题2个国家公园挨着的，路上也就是单程2个
多小时，晚上住回到EL PASO ，21号可以坐早班车看着沿途风景回来，顺便休息下。 |

早上仍旧是在营地的refugio里吃的早饭，顺便领了头天晚上预定的lunch box。其实只
要里面的三明治就足够了，剩下的一堆饮料、零食、水果什么的又重又不顶事、还占地
方，我还没出发就已经解决了一部分... 开饭的时间都是固定的，所以如果要在他们那
里吃，就没法太早出发。反正我本来也不喜欢早起，甚好。九点半出发的时候，天还是
很阴。没有雨，但厚厚的云层密密的笼罩住周遭的群山，直直的压在我们的营地上方，
只有近处一些不算太高的山峰能看的见顶，远些的都在云里呢。彩虹倒是一直都有，从
八点半起床到九点半出发一直都看得到。彩虹里影影绰绰的有辨识得出的山的轮廓，不
知道是远处的山穿透云雾的真实身影，还是近处的山在云雾中反射的海市蜃楼。
继续昨天的路往前走——Paine大环的路线设计真是不错，营地都在路上，进出营地一
