美国找到paralegal的工作，然后在此期间读part-time JD. 还有paralegal读完有没有
opt的？
因为llm太贵，读完了也很难在美国找到工作，除非很top.
所以我这样想，不知道可不可行。

一般律师事务所也不会资助Paralegal的法学院学费；
Paralegal的Certificate可能会有点用，但用处肯定不会特别大。而且Paralegal那点
钱估计也就够你温饱，想让工资来付你的法学院学费有点不现实。
我建议你不如去当地的州立学校直接读JD或者LLM，一般州立学费比较便宜。不要太在
意学校的排名，在职场中决定胜负的最后靠的都是你平时积累的人脉和为人的性格。 |

发帖数: 2859 | 5 paralegal在律所里仅仅是比秘书高一点的职位，不管是在中国的外所里还是美国这边
的所里，都是一样。entry level paralegal的地位连资深点的秘书都不如。。。让公
司资助去读JD几乎是一种不可能。。。
既然想去读JD，如果有正规的国内本科学位，就直接准备LSAT申请读JD好了，没必要用
社区大学里的paralegal来做什么过渡。。。
就算想去当paralegal，搞不懂为什么要去读社区大学里的，在我的概念里，社区大学
就是野鸡大学。。。不好意思，有点冒犯了。是因为正规大学里的申请不到吗？如果是
这样的话，那估计准备LSAT会比较困难。。。不是我打击你，LSAT比GRE和GMAT对语言
能力的要求都要高。很多中国学生考GMAT纯粹是用数学给自己往上提分数，verbal那部
分一般都很差。LSAT总体上来说要比GMAT的verbal部分要难。

从表面看，肯定是paralegal划算。
但是我很喜欢医学类的咚咚，所以对护士抱有很大热情，但是随着年龄增张，体力是个
问题啊。。。。而且万一回国。。。
另外讨厌穿套装和皮鞋，极度讨厌！
但是喜欢律所的氛围，喜欢繁复细致的工作和不错的pay。
做过的所有全职工作中，最受肯定的是在一个律所里打杂，最初级的那种秘书，连
paralegal都不是，也是在那里服务过的律师，现在在美国读书的，力荐我学这个
paralegal的，理由是她认为我很适合。。。。- -|| |

paralegals in a patent law firm does not deal much with either law or
technology. I don't think someone who has a PhD and pharma working
experience should be seeking paralegal job. If you are serious about
getting into patent field, consider looking for tech specialist or patent
agent job. |

中那么好,工资一般15-30一个小时(1099),但并不是说读个证书就有人请,以前我们从来
不请没有至少3-5年工作经验的,因为我们经常要Paralegal做research.
UCSD那个读出来了没人会请, 要读就去读USD那个, 毕竟USD的法学院是SD-Irvine这边
最好的,全美也是前50.
另外,穷律师也一大堆,除非是名校出来的,要不然读了法学院也基本是白读, SD这带只
有USD值得读, 其他什么cal western, Thomas Jefferson全部都是浪费钱. 以前所里那
个NYU出来的Partner连瞧都不会瞧那几个学校出来的毕业生 |

我有个Mol Bio & Biochem 的博士, 并在一大药厂工作了3年. 因为种种原因不想再做
bench work 了, 想做些patent law 方面的工作. 近期不打算申请law school, 想申请
patent paralegal 的工作, 但不知如何开始. 有几个具体点的问题,
1). 这想法是否异想天开, 有可行性嘛?
2). 这方面就业机会和前景如何呢?
3). 应作些什么准备工作呢? 是否应该去考paralegal license 和 patent bar 等等?

五年patent agent，来了美国，中间有几年生孩子在家没工作。现在想去找工作，觉得
很为难，一个年龄也大了，不可能重新读一个JD，也没这种野心。二，如果考Patent
bar，我觉得自己光本科学历，在美国够不上资格做patent agent,就算我能通过考试，
我看这里做patent agent都起码是个master。其实，我也不要求工资很高，能够找个过
得去的工作就好，所以我想着是否能够做个Patent paralegal处理一些process中的文
件，做些流程性的事情。我现在困惑的是，我该去努力考个patent bar呢，还是索性去
读一个paralegal的certificate比较容易找到工作。另外，我的英文说实话也不算很好
，所以打算先去读一些课程来加强语言。所以想请前辈们给点意见。 |

前同事力荐paralegal这个职业，说在美国很好找工作，律师多么，然后回国发展也不
错，前提是能傍上好的律师。
印象里好像东岸那边机会能比较多，咱们SD太乡土了，除了生物医药业，还有通信什么
的，别的需求量都不大。
不知道版上有没有在law firm混的，能给点扫盲吗？

奢求LLM 和JD。在网上查询了一些相关信息，admission倒是没说不允许foreigner
applicant,但是很少发现有同胞选择这个。而且对于国内的学历，还要到相关部门进行认
证，感觉与申请law school的手续不太一样。所以想问问大伙，这个到底适不适合中国人
读啊？我怕费了好大劲就算真的能读了，结果很难结业或者拿到证书的就惨了，又或者即
