To be frank, I was quite amazed by the peaceful and friendly atmosphere here.
It's really like a paradise especially compared to some boards outside,
in which even breathing ain't easy. I have to say, I like this board.
And I am sorry that I haven't been able to write anything for this board.
Actually, I don't have any idea about what kind of post would be suitable

感觉现在版上有个误区， 刚开始跑步的， 不管多慢，
都盯着心律计猛看， 其实5mph/6mph已经完全能跑的，
为了把心跳控制在所谓180-age, 还要降速。
其实不管是MAF也好， Hadd's Doc也好， 其实都不是
针对纯新手，刚开始跑步的减肥大众的， 而是针对有
一定基础的运动员的（Hadd's Doc举的例子是一个全马
2：20多的选手）, 为了让这些人继续提高成绩用的..
这些人跑到MAF的effort比刚开始跑步的人跑到MAF大
很多，速度也很快...
刚开始跑步的新人，跟着感觉走就好了， 如果你自己
感觉舒服，能坚持跑40-60分钟没有问题， 那就跑好了，
管它心跳是100还是200. 新人的心肺因为从来没锻炼过，
跳高一点非常正常， 坚持跑半年就降下来了..
新人要是为了维持什么180-age心跳，每天slow jogging,

Mount Rainier National Park介绍：
Mount Rainier位于Seattle东南部，是一座辐射状活火山，最高峰海拔4392米，绝对海
拔虽然不显高，但在周围几乎都是0海拔的地方是非常壮观的。夜晚在飞机上看到的
Mount Rainier很震撼，一座巨大的山峰破云而出，被冷冽的月光照得更显孤独，而周
围的城市和海湾都隐没在厚厚的云层下。公园一共5个developed景点，从西南逆时针依
次是：Longmire，Paradise，Ohanapecosh，Sunrise和Carbon and Mowich，其中最受
欢迎的是Paradise和Sunrise。下面分景点介绍几个trail。
注：大地图上标注的是提到的景点，小地图上标注的是走过的路线。

第四天早上8点终于到了Bahamas的Nassau。这次很准时，其实key west开到
Nassau并不远，看航程就知道故意绕了个大远道。8点排队下船的人并不多。刚下船还
没走到海关就有一堆一堆的小贩围过来问要不要tour，骑马什么的，早就在trip
advisor上听说Nassau大名鼎鼎的local sharks，和国内旅游景点的差不多，不过还好
说不要也没有人纠缠不放。停船的港口正在Nassau 北边downtown处，海关就是一座小
屋，里面有一块地叫communication center有无线网专门给人免费上网的，挤得满满当
当，虽然网速很慢，查个邮件什么还是很不错的，估计大家在船上都给憋坏了，船上上
网是0.7刀/min，赤果果的宰人啊。往里有个柜台，上面有Nassau的免费地图拿，各个
景点beach都标识得很清楚。里面还有个邮局柜台，可以买邮票寄明信片。穿过小屋就
算是过关了，海关的工作人员都没怎么看到，更别说查护照签证了。外面是停taxi的地

今年西雅图之旅主要目的是LD要爬Mt Rainier. Rainier是雪山需要用到alpine
climbing技术。我们并没有太多登山经验，只有雇向导带跟队走。8月天气最好是登山
的旺季，但太暖和山上的雪可能都变成冰了不一定好走。原计划赶在美国国庆期间少用
假期。3月开始找向导公司，Mt Rainier NP官网上有3家大的向导公司RMI，IMG,Alpine
Ascents International。后来在山上听人说也有小公司，说了个名字没记住。好像大
公司的队是4向导8客户。小公司是2向导4客户。有人直接找向导最后也是跟在大公司的
队里。入门路线是Muir disappointment cleaver route。惊讶的发现已经全部爆满。

The beginner package at blue Mt is absolutely a steal, highly recommended to
those 1st time skiers. For those who skied a few times, do not buy this
package because you will be limited to certain lift.
The green trails (Paradise and Burma road) at each side of blue Mt are great

前阵那个女性网友发贴，说她老公平时烟酒不沾，也坚持体育锻炼，结果突然检查出胃
癌晚期，并且癌细胞已扩散全身，之前一点征兆没有，我觉得比较蹊跷。
我不是学医的，但还是大约知道大部份癌症还是有征兆的。就胃癌而言，比较为世人所
知的征兆大约是：
1）食欲下降
2）时常胃痛或者胃胀
3）体重莫名其妙大幅下降
4）大便颜色呈黑色
一般医疗保险都会提供每年一次免费体检，家庭医生会做一些常规检查，晚期胃癌怎么
会逃得过医生的法眼？
如果胃癌从开始发病到晚期全程一点征兆没有，那就太可怕了。

雷尼尔山是美国海拔最高的火山，海拔4392米，也拥有除阿拉斯加外美国最大的冰川系
统。高海拔造就了壮丽的高山风光。趁周末天气晴朗，四人遂一同游览。
第一日，早上九点从Eugene出发，五个小时抵达公园西南口Nisqually Entrance。继续
走Paradise Road。到Paradise的Henry M Jackson Memorial Visitor Center下车。游
客中心规模庞大，象个两层的飞碟。这里是国家公园南线公路最高点，就在冰川脚下，
可以俯瞰周围群峰。拍照完毕，走Panorama Point Trail。往返大约3小时。它是在冰
川包围的盆地里，近距离接触冰川，但因为地势比周围低，风景不是很漂亮。回走后上
车，继续前行，几分钟后抵达Reflection Lake。这里是看雪山倒影最好的地方。典型
的高山风光。晚上住Paradise Inn。
第二日，早上九点从酒店出发，Paradise Road东行，转123北再转410北转Sunrise
Road东，大约一个小时抵达Sunrise Visitor Center。这里是东线，海拔比 |

从NISQUALLY ENTRA 三买的地方，看FLOOD DEBRIS AND DEAD TREES ON KAUTZ CREEK

冒冒失失跑去Mt. Rainier，差点挂了
前几天去MS面试，因为不想坐redeye航班，所以订的第二天下午的返航航班。于是面试
完第二天一大早5点起床（居然发现天已经亮了），6点开车上路。路上405接167的地方
一个不小心开到518上了。anyway，反正最后开了3个多小时的车才到了paradise
visitor center。进公园大门的时候，买票的mm说paradise那儿现在还有10ft积雪，当
时没反应过来还以为是10in。。。对我来说这么热的夏天能有积雪就不错了，还3米多
厚？开玩笑吧。
然后一路上山，使劲儿狂飙（租车公司给了个SUV，虽然是现代的，但也凑合了），偶
尔停下来拍几张照片。山路开起来爽啊，前提是前面没人挡路。
到了paradise，9点半，visitor center 10点才开门，于是先吃点饼干，四处晃晃 |

发帖数: 36 | 42 Paradise Inn 可以住。 很有历史感的木结构Lodge。餐厅据说又慢又贵又不好吃。主
厅极好，高大宽敞温暖，壁炉炉火熊熊，大大的木桌子靠窗，可以聚餐吃自带食品。还
可以上二楼，很多四方桌，看书，小酌，玩游戏都好。住宿不便宜，而且要早早预定。
上次去，清理房间的居然是说普通话的中国PPMM。可惜我还没退房她们就把房间清理了
，不幸我又用了洗手间 ：）。
晚上停车场有小狐狸出没，不怕人。
Longmire National Park Inn也可以住，也不便宜，离Park Entrance 不远，似乎有
Shuttle从Lodge 到Paradise。Paradise 旺季趴车很难的。公园外最近的是Ashford，
很多住的地方。上网查吧。
没在Rainier Camp过，山里海拔高，早晚温差大，宁可带厚的热着，好过冷得睡不着。
没听说谁专门去Sunrise 看 日出。摸黑开车要小心。但是早上光线好，山景很美。 |

Bellevue -> Sunrise: 2.5hr
Sunrise: 0.5hr
Sunrise -> Paradise: 1.5hr
Paradise: 0.5hr
Paradise -> Bellevue: 2.5hr

你要是从来没去过Rainier，建议你从西南角进去，直接去Paradise，
那里是Rainier最好的visitor center，而且Paradise那里很多trail可以走，
如果玩得高兴，会花很多时间，后面没时间就不必去Sunrise了。
先去Sunrise再去Paradise，有点舍本求末了。

rainier未完成比较遗憾，不过还是很不错的经历，不错的回忆。
去年报名RMI公司的4 day climb活动，向导，培训费用加租装备，饮食，住宿等加起来
不小的开销。
路况：
不清楚别的季节路况怎样，感觉这个长周末的时候一路都挺危险的，没多少人爬，除了
RMI自己的队伍，路上都没碰到什么人。
从paradise到camp muir一直大雾（云？），很多时候能见度就10米+，没向导的话找路
都很麻烦，2/3以后天气开始变差，结冰，起风，下雪（冰）粒，头发和胡子上的汗水
很快就会冻成冰粒还蛮好玩的。
向导说天气偏冷。从camp muir到summit（我没完成最后一段，听完成的朋友讲就是把
那个大雪坡走完，走完就是crater rim），2/3都很危险，很多目测超过70°的，就窄
窄的一个小trail。disappointment cleaver要走几个又陡又窄的山脊，虽然有绳索还
是有点紧张。开始没经验休息时脱了下手套，立刻被向导阻止，带回去时手套已经被冻
硬了，差点没戴回去

走。
经过Longmire可以停一下，有个博物馆。Paradise Inn也可以进去看看。看一下
Myrtle Falls。我在网上看过的最漂亮的野花盛开的照片就是在paradise拍的。
再往里开几迈，Reflection Lakes到此一游。 |

前几天和我家LD去Seattle和Portland周边玩了近一个星期，他给我们的行程提了不少
建议，让我们在时间安排和景点选择上都做得恰到好处，还在Chinatown热情款待我们
，饭后带我们参观华大。我因临行匆忙，忘带了GPS的mount，他也毫不犹豫的借给我他
的mount，省去了我们在旅途中不少麻烦。
另外感谢monkeyface提供的玩canon beach和columbia river的insight，我基本上没怎
么做计划，就把该去的点都去了。感谢afhrh提供的Forks住宿信息，forks motel确实
不错。先这样不在网上公开的住处，多亏在版上遇到朋友帮忙，不然还真很难找到。
我们的行程大致是：
Olympic 2天
Mt. Rainier 1.5天
Portland及附近（Columbia River, Mt. Hood, Cannon Beach） 2天
Seattle 1天
我们在Olympic玩了2天转了逆时针一个圈:

最近开始绵绵细雨，据说四丫头的雨季又来临了。几乎是天无三日晴。赶在晴朗季节的
尾巴去了Snowlake, 还有Mt. Rainer. 回来第二天就淅淅沥沥起来，一直到今。雨季里
动物竟活跃起来，据说有人在同一座山上遇到了熊。这样的天气让我想起一个人，她的
名字叫冷清秋。还有一个人，她的名字叫张静秋。冷清秋大概童叟皆知，张静秋何许人
也，与本文不相干，暂且不提，呵呵。
这一天有雾，能见度不高。在等红绿灯的间隙往天边瞥了一眼，看到一座高耸入云的雪
山，和旁边的山比起来简直鹤立鸡群。那幅画面回想起来，仍心有余悸。
On the way. 这样的路走了好久。旁边是茂密的森林，头上是一线天，云在一线之间缓
缓流过。光线有点昏暗，空气里充满了负离子，带开四周和头顶的车窗， 深–呼-吸-。
到了。已开了近两小时，让小蓝的MPG骤升了几个点。
因为要去的是一个叫Paradise 的地方，所以又往前开了好久。没见着什么人。
Paradise到了.还是很美地，其实我想象的paradise也不过如此 -连绵的山，溪流潺潺
