首先是Berman,当初买了mono的transcendental Etudes,觉得声音实在太闷，后来就买
了CBS的唱片，其中就包括了Rhapsody Espagnol, 当时一听就觉得这实在是太夸张了，
看来原贴里就提到了，这个Yundi还比不了，不过大部分人都比不了，连Gilels(他自己
弹得已经很快了）都说Berman的Rhapsody Espagnol是奇迹。
接下来说Tanhauser overture,这个overture真的是百听不厌，可是不知道多少人看过
歌剧，我们这正好上演Tanhauser,做广告就说the most voluptuous opera by Wagner,
充分反映LA的特点，再看LAOpera上给的片断，基本就是限制级。。。
说到opera transcription, 不久前听了Kocsis自己transcribe的Prelude and
Liebestod from Tristan, 和Liszt的Tanhauser transcription有得一比，比起Liszt
的Liebestod更丰富，颇 |

我特别喜欢其中一张讲回到前世的专辑
梦剧场的剧本。
故事中有五位人物分別是：
1. 催眠師：主導Nicholas的全程催眠治療
2. Nicholas：一位經常為夢境中的女孩所困擾，終日惶惶不安，睡不成眠，不得不求
助於催眠治療，回到前世一探究。
3. Victoria：Nicholas的前生，因男友Julian嗜賭成癮，屢勸不聽，在灰心之餘讓Ed
乘虛而入，譜了一段三角畸戀，終至招來殺生之禍。
4. Julian (Sleeper)：Victoria的男友，因沈迷於賭，而且死得不明不白的，所以又
稱為Sleeper。
5. Ed(Miracle)：Julian的弟弟，在Victoria傷心無助的情況下給了Victoric "奇蹟"
似的撫慰，而自己平白無故"奇蹟"似的博得佳麗的芳心，所以又稱為Miracle。
故事源起於一位叫作Nicholas的男子，經年累月的為同樣一種的夢境所困擾，令他寢食
難安，夢境中有一條羊腸小徑，通往一間寒氣逼人的房子，延著房內的樓梯往上走，在
頂端有一個房間，裏頭有一面鏡子，而鏡中是一位憂愁的少女影像。他知道事出必有因

。:) 上次去看Tanhauser之前朋友推荐下载了它的overture, 初次听没什么，到看演出
的时候就比较有感觉了, 不过那次演出我印象最深的就是大家正襟威坐看R级演出的那
段了, 呵呵。因为overture在电脑上，有时拿出来听，越来越喜欢，所以这次对T＆I比
较有兴趣。不过记得当初在芝加哥的civic opera把它分成三部演的，觉得奇怪，查了
一下才发现它居然这么长。不过因为朋友都说去了，所以准备硬着头皮上。今天看到下
周LA Opera在这边图书馆有个Talk，准备去熏陶一下，顺便看看有没有highlights可以
借回来听。
La Boeheme我在纽约看过Baz Luhrmann导演的版本，本来上个月想看LA的，但是买票太
晚了，又跟Don Giovanni紧挨着，就只看了后者，可惜那时候不认得你。Don Giovanni
很好看，我没看过别的版本，所以不知道LA的比起来如何，感觉舞台和服装设计都挺现
代的。

上周五忙着给网友写生日帖，忘了来州版贴耶鲁本科生芭蕾舞团的表演《仲夏夜之梦》
，不知道有朋友去看吗？周五、周六演了两晚，在College St上的Cooperative Arts &
Humanities high School——我都不知道市中心还有个高中，co-op是非正式的高中吗
？这个非专业的芭蕾舞团去年春天才成立，这是第一次表演，免费观看。我惊奇地发现
虽然他们转圈不多，落地不稳，但我得到的享受好像和专业芭蕾表演没有太大的区别。
可能一来是我外行看热闹，只要有个芭蕾的姿势架子，我就很领会精神、不计其余；二
来这出莎士比亚喜剧轻松嬉戏，门德尔松的音乐活泼欢快，学生们的青春和穿插其中的
幽默现代舞片段也大大弥补了古典舞功底的不足——编舞都是学生们一手搞定，真了不
起。

City Council gets an easy way out on the car charger issue, even though
I think a majority was prepared to reject the placing of free electric fill
-ups on city property.
The city attorney says giving away electricity violates the State
Constitution which bars outright gifts of public resources.
Like any such situation, the ban is routinely circumvented, but in this
