Zhishan打电话过来，说看见我报名参加这周末OSB的Collegiate New Comers的比赛了，
鼓励了一番。
Zhishan去过。今年因为要面试没法去，很遗憾。说，去OSB的所有人都不会后悔。那里是
喜爱跳舞的人的大party,而且可以欣赏职业选手的OSB professional的精彩比赛。
可惜我们一同学跳舞的十几个人这次只有我们4个过去。
这次赶鸭子上架也是因为明年之后就不再qualify collegiate competitions了，而且会
搬到很远的地方去，OSB是最大规模的比赛之一，恐怕也难以赶来了。
这两周还是很忙，没能增加练习的次数。约了今天下午group meeting结束后和明天上午
由
舞林大牛pinkice和zhishan分别给我们一些private lesson :),再把routine和动作细节
提高一下。
不过说实话，去比赛只是为了:

到这快收尾了，抱歉实在没有时间写下更多的花絮。
几点感想：
绝对不虚此行，现场气氛极好，我们Michigan去了60＋人，是声势最浩大的team之一。虽
然football输了，但我们在Columbus能够气势如虹地齐声高喊'Go Blue',并且用舞场上的
表现战胜OSU(只是OSU team好像不太强，几乎没能感受的他们的存在）。
而且希望一起学舞的xdjms如果明年没有毕业，也去报名参加collegiate的比赛。其实除
了
OSB这场，还有很多别的规模大小不等的比赛，包括我们自己team举办的Michigan Open，
明年是2月4号在Ann Arbor举行。看比赛是享受，而参加比赛的确是促进自己提高的一条
捷径，而且很好玩。
New Comer的比赛报名人极多（一般都有100对上下甚至更多），大部分是象我们一样才学
了半年左右的新手，所以不用怕，大不了不被call backb |

两天的trip，绝对不虚此行。虽然每天只睡4－6个小时，在比赛的地方从早待到晚，
上场比赛，为大家加油叫好（到结束嗓子的确毁了），很是疲乏。
先致谢一下：
－感谢舞伴boundless百忙之中和我同去，并参加了好多项目的比赛.因为要化妆，每天比
我还要少睡一小时；
- 感谢pinkice和zhishan在我们去比赛之前给我们的指导，使得我们能够从只比一支舞增
加到5－6支，并且Tango的动作从一个增加到三个；
－感谢orchis和XL同学陪我们同去，为我们买饭，照相录影，开车接送，不辞辛劳；
－感谢leo和nothing周六中午拍马赶到，使我们亲友团的规模暴增100％ :P；
－感谢大家前后的祝福、祝贺，这是让我在这继续汇报的动力：）

其实去之前实在是太忙，没法多练习.不过pinkice和zhishan两个小时的private lesson
还是很管用的，在这再感激一下。
正式开始学舞始于上学期 umove 的 ballroom dance class。只是每周一小时，之后也没
练习，学了就忘了。9月份开始参加 UM Ballroom Dance Team 的 beginner lesson,每周
学两小时，课外再练1－3个小时，才开始真正系统的学习。
本来只打算参加两种舞的比赛：American Waltz和American Rumba的比赛，后来练着练着
觉得反正交了$80的membership/reg fee，不如多跳几种，反正是new comer的比赛，大多
都是初学者，要求并不高，有1－3个基本步就可以上去了。所以最后实际上跳了六个舞的
比赛，除了用American Waltz的部分动作跳了Intenenat |

我和boundless参加的比赛的详细结果：
第一天：
New comer American Rythm:
- Cha-cha: 1st round (no call-back);
- Rumba: 2nd round;
New comer International Standard:
- Waltz: 1st round;
第二天：
New comer American Smooth:
- Waltz: 5th round (final), 7th in 90+ couples;
- Tango: 3rd round;
- Foxtrot: 2nd round.
另(第二天）：
One of the new comer representive in team match:
- International Waltz;
- American Rumba.

btw,我们录了大概6－7个小时的collegiate comp的比赛，从New Comer一路向上：
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Novice, Pre-champion, Champion,每个级别的决赛基本上
都录下来了。
这下我们有了整套的学习资料了！大家平时自己练习和聚会练习有了示范，效果会好得多
。
还有一点补充，这次比赛才真正见识了team中一些Stars 或 Rising Stars的实力，真是
惊艳啊。
和他们中的一些聊了聊，更是吃惊非常：好多现在跳得极好的也才开始学舞1－3年而已。
比如跳Novice的Jason,还有Kostas(得了一项冠军），分别是从3.5年和两年前开始学习的
。帅得一塌糊涂的Rainer/Lisa，居然才学了一年多一点，去年还是New Comer，今年已经
在Bronze的比赛中游刃有余，屡屡闯进决赛获奖了。

If you are not competing, you can decide later. Your team will probably
send a big group to OSB, so it shouldn't be a problem for you to find a ride

的选手，比如ARUNAS/KATUSHA，VICTOR/ANASTASIA，RICARDO/YULIA等等。
看美式的，在USDC，OHIO和MILLENNIUM可以看到最高水平的选手。
看表演舞蹈的，在OHIO, MILLENIUM, HERITAGE和USDC。
与OSB不同，MILLENIUM的场面华丽，PRO-AM舞蹈比赛参加者越来越多，表演舞蹈
的组织越来越精彩。在众多PRO-AM比赛中，MILLENIUM的水平应该是最突出的。

那个OSB板子用错了，人家 protocol 里面用的是三合板，楼主改成OSB了。但是OSB是
有方向性的，看表面上那些刨花的方向，长度方向是最大受力方向。楼主那样用法，如

Not sure, what are you talking about OSB, the real OSB or just the
collegiate nationals, they are hosted at the same venue, but total different
things, regarding organizers and rules.
You should go to OSB, because you will be able to watch American Ballroom
Challenge, if you find the right channel, you can get in for free, :) |

防水的有很多选择，你自己搜索，也可以用dri-core，delta-fl和platon，dri-core最
贵，但是可以直接做hardwood的subfloor，delta-fl和platon上面要plywood或者OSB，
platon最便宜，OSB也比plywood便宜。
直接glue down完全是错误的，你可以搜索google上面how to install hardwood floor
on concrete.
要么你装floating engineering floor，可以省事。
地砖要敲掉吧？然后下面装subfloor然后hardwood，当然就比原来高一点了。 |

plywood OSB particleboard都用glue 不过plywood是一片一片粘一起的 OSB是一指宽
左右的小木条粘在一起 particleboard就是木渣加胶压制的了 所以 要避免接触人造化
学粘合剂 就用plywood
要完全不用人造化学粘合剂 只能自己用whitewood拼起来 |

现在已经拆了几块siding，切了一些osb sheathing。
接下来有几个问题请教该如何处理。
1）树根接触下面木头的需不需要移除？我已经把外面锯断了（不知道树会不会死了）
，里面很不好锯，就算用Reciprocating Saw 也不太好伸进去。
2）下面的木头已经烂掉了一些，但看起来不太影响结构，该用什么处理防止继续烂
3）接下来会把最下面钉一个start strip，然后lattice 装在下面，上面装上一个
siding。OSB现在没有building paper，要不要加上，或者一块用primer之类的seal一
下？ |

但是你这个2不是wood siding啊。是vinyl siding+正面brick veneer。
这两个房子我觉得都差不多，主要就看地段和邻居了。地段和邻居真的很重要，远比你
看到的装修细节重要。 |

roofed-in. the floor is built with OSB, water will not seep into OSB, which
will retain its integrity even after submerged with water for a year.
millions of houses have been framed when it rains, especially in south, it
takes a week to frame a house, three days to roof in, there are good chance
house will be soaked with water before roof is put in. |

补一个洞，没必要用同样的材料，说不定实木板更便宜，因为不需要买一大块回来锯小

你不要太误导大家乐,只是CFR有一条说剩余名额可以不按国别、而是按PD日期先后分配的补充条款。
注意是"可以",其实在某些情况下 (就像现在烙印90%,我们10%),我个人认为不公和有违移民法diversify得基本精神.
OSB那样做,就那么一个灰色区域,他那样做没有违法也是个事实,我们确实也没有什么办法,但是我想我们还是要意识到我们其实是一直被OSB玩呢.
