准被optical取代了。你不想花三五年读PhD，刚毕业就发现已经过时了。
近来optical发展很快，apple已经把intel的thunderbolt产品化了。

我是做 fiber optics的， fiber optic sensor的研究方面的，
然后前年之前有实习，实习的公司做的是色谱仪的研发。
不知道做fiber optics的 能够去什么样的公司

第一次在板上发帖。
我现在的情况：
在一个综排20，专排40左右的学校PhD一年级。因为本科学的光学还有其它各种原因目
前貌似跳到Nano-Optics方向这个就业火坑里了。
因为是第一年所以感觉research的小方向上还是有比较大的空间的。老板目前的课题大
概在plasmonics/metamaterial还有on-chip photonic interconnect上。
plasmonics/metamaterial这个方向目前的感觉是大家都在灌水，实在是看不到什么工
业界的应用，这个接着做下去基本就是postdoc争取faculty的路了，我实在也不想这样
，比较摧残人。
on-chip photonic interconnect的话倒是有看到intel/ibm/hp之类的大公司一直想在
