If your are NOT using NTFS for your NT's system dir, try to copy a normal
kernel32.dll and gdi32.dll from other NT4 + SPn (n should be your previous
SP number before SP6) platforms.
RichWin did a very dirty thing here. It renamed the original kernel32.dll to
lernel32.dll and gdi32.dll to hdi32.dll. Then put its own dll wrappers
there.

i used to have NT4 loader to load win98, NT, linux, freebsd la
i think you should follow these:
1. edit lilo.conf and then lilo
2. boot to win98 and type "fdisk /mbr"
3. run bootpart to generate the Menu entry for linux

没有那个OS试图给如此多的硬件软件以及各种流行标准提供支
持，并且基本上作得还可以。BUG是难免的，尤其对稍大系统，
(最近BBS当得比你的PC勤吧:)，但是windows系统的确是在不断
提高。我觉得NT4+SP6个人使用相当的稳定，没有其他那个单机
OS能在提供同样稳定性能的同时还具有如此友好的界面和众多
的应用支持。
当然，现在即使不懂计算机的人也都知道有个Linux要取代windows，
人心向背与迫不及待是明显的。当然调调IRQ，为PCI声卡找找
驱动有时候也是一种乐趣，但不是人人都有这个能力和时间的。
到windows真正被取代可能还有很长的路要走，在此之前还是
享用微软带来的方便吧。 |

I have been tried the beta versions from time to time and I am
using the final version now. Overall I like it a lot, it is faster
than NT4 and at least as stable. The builtin chinese system is
fully functional (though not as convenient as richwin for
pinyin/phrases input). It is even a bit hard to get
back to NT for me :) However, you should keep in mind that
there are still a lot of compatibility problems. Right now my
win2k is missing an appropriate driver for my xerox printer,
a modem dr |

floppies, when prompted, insert the driver disk for the
DMA66 shipped with motherboard. Be sure of blue and black
ends of DMA66 cabel for the right connection.
If your motherboard doesn't support DMA66, you need to
download a patch and extract them to a floppy (inserted
during NT installation) to enable NT to support HD over 8G.

on the manual or the surface of HD, you can find those
parameter.

Try this way, set the HD to be master and connect it to the
1st IDE ports, and set the CD-ROM to be master and connect it to
the second IDE port.
NOTE: some HD sould be set as single instead of master if no slave
and some CD-ROM on some Mother board should be set as Cable in staed of
master if no slave. |

发帖数: 6210 | 17 In my experience when install Windows NT 4.0 with an ISA NE2k
network adapter, after run winnt /b and reboot, NT 4.0 will
stop while it's in 50 lines mode (in NT2k, this screen is replaced
by a picture). If unplug the apdater, NT4.0 will pass happily.
After NT 4.0 copies files and reboot, plug in the adapter again,
NT 4.0 now can pass 50 lines mode, and continue graphical setup.

不可以，你可以认为微软在你的ASP外边套了一层COM shell,
所以你只可以call COM object. 如果想call API,最有效的办法
是建立一个C++ COM wrapper将你所需要的API做成COM，然后再用
ASP
ASP 的debug一直是非常令人头疼的事情。MSDN中有很多篇文章讨论
这个问题。对ASP进行Debug必需NT Server4, IIS4,和一些细致的
设置。你可以到MS网址上去找。
VI可以直接对client side script直接debug但不能在SERVER side
script中设端点。我想技术上的主要原因是微软没有将VI和IIS之间
的接口处理得很好。
我用NT4 workstation,所以也无法直接debug,一般使用比较
原始的办法，就是使用response.write 输出需要的信息。另外一个比较
有效的方式是在VB中做好程序，然后migrate到ASP中。 |
