kind humid and hot. I had thought it would be a difficult day for fishing.
It turned out that I caught more than 20 small mouth basses although none of
them was over 18" (length limit). I also caught a 42 inch norther pike. (
length limit 45").
I caught 2 huge catfish, and took back the smaller one as shown in the
picture. It is about 33 inch long. I did not have a scale at home. Do you
guys know roughly how many pounds |

同一种事物有不同的名称和叫法，是很正常的事情。如何称呼我们常钓的鱼？对于我们
原本只熟悉“四大家鱼”的中国移民而言，一是涉及英文翻译问题，还有一个广东话和
普通话的发音差异，再加上本身鱼的英文叫法就有多重，因此，鱼的中文叫法就更是五
花八门。
就拿四大家鱼来说，鲤鱼 草鱼 鲢鱼和鳙鱼（俗称胖头鱼），在北美这边（主要是美国
， 四大家鱼除了鲤鱼在加拿大随处可见，其余的目前还没进入大湖），统称为“鲤鱼
”，上述四种分别是“COMMON CARP, GRASS CARP, SILVER CARP和BIGHEAD CARP”,而
其中胖头鱼，则美国的渔业中他们就常叫成 BLACK CARP（黑鲤鱼，区别于SILVER），
在加拿大的华人超市里则叫“崇鱼”。
“老子”说“名不正则言不顺”。为了便于交流，此处特别倡议，北美的渔友们，群策
群力，民主投票，给常见的及容易引起混乱的可钓鱼类“正名”, 也便于我们以及将来
和中国内地的路亚爱好者经验交流，也给中国渔业尤其是养殖业一个合理的统一叫法，
应该很有必要。

berries, but green berries, not blue yet. another variety called O'nell
tastes better but I didn't find it.
these are southern highbushes which is more suitable for California. they
are evergreen, and tolerate full sun in cal. the norther highbushes loss
all leaves in the winter and cannot tolerate hot afternoon sun.

这是国外第一次出版金庸译著（此前正式出书的三本金庸小说英译本都是香港出版的，
附在帖尾）。
封面为啥搞半拉翅膀？怪不拉几的，远不如来头凶恶的大雕神气啊。
来自爱丁堡的译者Anna Holmwood，中文名为郝玉青，父亲英国人，母亲瑞典人。郝玉
青在牛津大学读历史本科时，于2005年暑假参加游学中国项目，从此爱上中国，开始学
中文。硕士攻读牛津现代中国研究专业，又到北大和台湾师范大学进修中文，之后还在
伦敦大学亚非学院再读了个中国文学硕士学位。毕业后做翻译和中国文化引介工作。在
台北时，郝玉青和朋友在敦化南路诚品书店看到一书架的金庸小说，便买了本中文版的
《鹿鼎记》。初读颇感纠结，随后渐入佳境。2012年，郝玉青花了几星期试译《射雕英
