I've got a system set up with Verizon FIOS (with their wireless router)
I have a NAS and I ripped CDs with AIFF format. When I use Sonos to stream
the music via home network to my NAIM DAC however, the speed was very bad...
there are at least two hiccups during each song.

networking，真是无心插柳，机缘巧合了。我去GE onsite的时候，加上我同时有9个人
，其中6人面试上海GE，我和另外2个是面试美国GE。大家一起吃饭时候聊起，才知道我
们9个拿到onsite的，都是投简历时找了GE内部的人refer的。插一句，我之前申请过
Honeywell，找了组里原来一postdoc帮我forward简历，他回信就说“I will also

classmates always say they will forward resume. Some of them get back to me
saying the people they know don't have openings.
Online submission is still the most effective way for me.
However I do help a couple of my classmates get phone interviews, and
another one even got an offer. That guy merely talk to me after joining our
company.
What I am saying is you still need your own effort to find job, networking
is secondary. |

Why is that? As I observe:
1) New types of network gears such as application acceleration led by
Riverbed and F5 (RVBD FFIV)
2) New demands for gears to build *high-bandwidth* data centers from both
wired and wireless service providers such as AT&T/Comcast to meet the ever-
growing multimedia content delivering. Several small players are thriving by
this demand.

个人背景：
MASTER，SUPPLY CHAIN，8年经验，国内2年+它国3年+美国3年，还有6年的国内强力部
门经历不算。2010年4月离职回到本地和老婆孩子团聚，开始艰辛地找工历程。
个人定位：普通人，甚至略低些，曾经认为自己比较NB，到美国后，尤其是现在只求找
个稳定的工作，和老婆孩子过日子。不会NETWORKING来找工，怕拿不到OFFER以后没脸
见朋友。所以只是海投，比较中意的就有针对性地改简历再投。主要工作信息来源：

2010年我主要集中在本地找，2011新年后开始全国找。个人感觉这一年多来的工作机会
变化，2010年5、6月份有一个高峰，今年1、2月份是一个高峰，现在5、6月份也是高峰
期，尤其是目前，美国制造业很多大公司前两年裁人太多，现在订单大增，人力不足已
经影响到business，开始大规模招人。

这边没有CS做data mining的基础，基本上用图论之类的搞些理论分析，灌灌水。不知
道以后就业怎么样。
因为还有一年半毕业，准备明年暑假找份实习。现在很迷惘，是该用原来做无线的基础
去申qualcomm这种通信公司，还是考虑facebook linkedin这种真正的social network
的公司。不知道这种公司是会做很理论的研究。

相关是marketing在国内念的，是个master，学一年的finance，马上毕业，希望找到
financial analyst工作，暂时感受：
1.international 招的实在少的可怜
2.本人实力不突出，但networking资源也不多（我指亲戚或认识的人就2个）
3.跟一个Alumni director聊过，说我在job fair 怎样怎样，他没听完就很意味深长地
说，“别浪费时间了，大多international如果能找到工作，都是毕业去东部大城市如
纽的。 ”
我结合自己情况，身份就刷剩下不多选择了，还实力虽不差，但相对根本不突出，专业
不太相关，也不能拼工作经验，但fresh grad那一层选择也不多。 我这情况，是不是
就如那个老外director很直地说一样，直接networking有的资源或者开发alumni，公开
的那些什么job fair，什么网投的就省了？？？
