最近NIH下的NCI发布了一个新项目NCI Formulary，相对于NCI为了支持抗癌登月计划，
极力促成制药行业的潜在新药和NCI研究PI合作，共同推进有潜力新药进入临床。
我最近也发现有几个著名的在研药物和我的新药思路很相似，比如Novartis与Aduro合
作的sting抑制剂ADU-S100/MIW815，同样是瘤内注射的药物，这个新药的药效和安全性
都没有我的药强。
另外一个新药就是tocagen公司的TOCA 511 & TOCA FC，同样也是瘤内注射。
我看专家对这两个药的评价都很高，这增加了我的信心。
我想申请这个NCI Formulary项目，争取列入备选项目库https://nciformulary.cancer
.gov/。有哪位同学对NCI项目比较熟，请介绍一下申请时的关键点。

president, the NCI director will send a letter of resignation and the new
president will approve it (appoint a new one) or disapprove it.
In general, presidential appointment of NCI director is not a good thing for
this institute because it is affected by politics much more than other

心请问大牛们，这分希望大吗？最近不断被NIH打击，start-up 也花得差不多了，亚历
山大啊。真心希望这个能中，才有米下锅。
查了一下NIH payline 和 percentile，好像NCI的R01 R21都是用的percentile
payline, 只找到2013 的payline是9%， success rate 13.7%。 请教大牛， 2014的
payline是多少？payline和success rate为什么差别这么大？还有NCI R21会考虑New &
Early Stage-Investigators吗？

of NCI budget) and moved the money to help grant (extramural). Basically
all Lab and branch will have about 10% cut. The next fiscal year will be
similar if not worse.
The stimulus fund created grants but it was discontinued. Some grants will
also be discontinued. This is why NCI intramural have 10% cut, which is
higher than other institutes in NIH.

PhD level, 要求有丰富NGS pipeline经验，会分析，会编程，待遇从优。
1. 必须有丰富的设计和build NGS analysis pipeline经验
2. 至少熟练掌握一种编程语言（我们主要用python, 不过你会perl,
c，java也行，换起来也很方便）
3. 会分析数据，这个版上生物信息PhD都会，我就不强调了
Genomic Data Commons的team招一个，其它的project也需要一
两个，后者除了分析还要做少量project management。运作有点
像startup, 生物信息员，软件工程师，系统分析员／网络工程师，
大家都混坐在一起工作。
不知道Genomic Data Commons的，我来介绍一下。这个是我们

发帖数: 28562 | 12 success rate 把second submission考虑进去了,只要一个申请拿到钱了，即使花了两
次时间，那么也是100%。所以综合起来算，在递交的人中，最终有13.7%拿到了钱。
payline则针对某次周期所有的申请，不管是不是second submission，反正那么多本交
上来的申请中只有9%能给钱。
我对NCI不熟，所以不知道他们公布了没有。
别膜拜我。你的分数可比我好多了。我是混NIGMS的，我的分数如果直接拿到NCI去都不
一定能拿到钱。呵呵。

Some if not many schools have indirect cost more than 90%, as far as I know.
I think NIH research has been better after "site visit" and BSC (Board of
Scientific Counselors) come to evaluate investigator's performance.
Lab/Branch chief used to be very powerful to evaluate PIs. But now BSC
plays important role in evaluating PI. In CCR (where most NCI intramural
research is conducted), 95% percent of decision of BSC will be accept by CCR

发展前途都差不多。NCI 那个地方由于太悠闲很多人都很懒。你要是去了的话

that it does not need very extensive preliminary data. A novel idea seems
to be more important than solid logistics. Anyway, I agree it is tough since
the payline is so low. The FY10 NCI payline is 15% for both R01 and R21. It
is 20% for R01 for NI. Unfortunately,this does not apply to R21. |

they do not calculate percentile for R03 and the funding decision is solely
determined by priority score. Is that true?

does not have to listen to you. Once assigned, if you don't like it, you
can ask for a switch, but again, NIH does not have to listen to your
suggestion. I do know people got the study section they want from a switch,
but I don't know it helped.
Also, you don't have to believe me if you want. If your R21 ever got funded
, it means that it is fund-able at a R01 level. So you literally just

房间在一层，有两个单独房间和一个卫生间（Plaza Apartment），刚刚新装修的。
周围区域非常安全，附近有警界守卫。
整个apartment的房租是975$，包括煤气/热水/空调，有公用烤箱/微波炉/冰箱。
用电和上网需要单独付费。
因为两个房间大小不等，所以大房间的房租是525$，小房间是450$。
已有一位女生刚刚入住，在NIH工作。她希望找一个干净、安静的女孩合租，
想住哪个房间都可以。用电/上网等费用均摊。
因为她暂时还没有开通美国工作单位的email，所以暂时站内联系。谢谢。 |
