长期以来，汉语不但以难学著称，而且还常常被指责为词汇欠缺、表达贫乏。生为汉人
，真可谓双倍之不幸——语言学习所需的时间本来就已经比别人多了好几倍，不料最终
学到的东西还不及人家几分之一。
毛喻原先生便为这种论点提供了具体数据：“我们知道，汉语一部普通的《新华字典》
所收单字（含繁体、异体）是一万一千一百个左右，清初所编的《康熙字典》所收汉字
是四万七千多个，最近出的《汉语大字典》所收汉字也才五万六千个。与英语相比，汉
语的词汇量是非常小的。即使一部欧美普通学生所用的字典所收单词也至少在十六至十
七万个以上。如著名的《牛津字典》所收单词是六十多万个。篇幅最大的《韦伯斯特大
词典》所收单词几乎达到一百万之多。仅从词汇量来比较，汉语和英语在这方面的差别
是非常巨大的。”
显然，毛先生“汉语词汇量非常小”这一结论，是用“科学方法”计算出来的，即：拿
英语单词总量减去汉字字数总量。显然，这么简单的题目，连小学生都难不倒，根本用
不着毛先生亲自动手。不过，小学生同时还知道，加减法的运算有一个先决条件，即“

我前面的帖子中提到过一个病人：“20多岁的护校学生，她身上贴有3个100mcg/h的
Fentanyl patch，再加上口服Oxycontine 120mg Tid plus Percocet2-3 tab q4h for
breakthrough pain。我粗略地算一下，她使用的剂量大约相当于每日口服morphine
3000-3500mg或是IV Morphine Sulfate 1000-1200mg/day。她一个人一天的剂量就足可
以杀死我自己加上这个版上所有的班长，可她还是活蹦乱跳的，而且一见到医生就喊痛
，全身痛，12/10。”
这个病人是以前我做住院医查房时见到的，她的具体病史记不清了，好像是为了一个
小手术收她入院的。因为她的吗啡类止痛药不单计量高的出奇，而且当时Fentanyl
patch/Oxycontine都是临床开始使用不久的新药，所以印象深刻。

"A woman came to the ER with severe abd pain, had dozens of visits through
the years, multiple specialists and told she had irritable bowel,
colonoscopies and CT in past c/w bowel edema, non-specific at times.
Laparoscopies also negative. Told she was a seeker on many occasions. I saw
her writhing in pain, typical narcs, etc. Repeat CT in ER with mod bowel
edema, also noticed she had a rash looked like hives. I asked, "do you break

结果病人是为什么去er呢？
从er出来，fill 8 颗narc而已，还有antibiotics，看起来是真出问题了才去的er
为retail打工还是institution工作，大家都是independently practice，如果这人真
是drug seeker，你这样做当然是对的！ drug seeker应该心虚不会去complain吧。。
。你manager不会知道的，就算知道你也没做错，实话实说，对处方有不明的地方，问
了医生，医生改处方了。
在retail干，fill narcotics 永远是头痛的问题，自己的执照最重要！
