大提高，甚至比WRT610N V2还差点。不支持5Ghz也是另外一个问题。BTW, 似乎支持N16
的Tomato只有teddy bear mod的beta版本支持，谁能confirm一下？见下面贴子：
持3700,但还处于beta版早期(alpha?)，正式版出来估计还得等段时间。目前看Tomato
可能不会支持3700。3700强的地方是性能好，在Smallnetbuilder的测试里综合性能仅

从AMAZON 买了个N16 , 啥也没动， 直接接到CABLE MODEM 上， 发现不能得到外部IP
地址。
找AMAZON 换了一个， 这个倒是能用。 但是网速非常慢。
有个老的WL-520GU,本来打算用这个N16代替520GU.
换回520gu ，网速就正常了。
原来520 gu， 刷得是tomato,为了比较， 俺又刷回 asus 老的fireware.
不会俺运气这么好， 连着拿到2 个有问题的？还是有啥地方按没搞对？
n16 俺用的是出厂设置。 |

its BCM chipset is capable of 5Ghz band, but lacking of signaling module
and antenna means it's a just 2.4Ghz AP.
n13u and n16 use different chipsets, atheros vs BCM. n16 has some
incredible spec(NVRAM and RAM) making it the king of the 'cheap' and
versatile routers. ppl tends to slap alot of extra features on n16 with
3rd party firmwares.
n13u on the other hand, 4MB NVRAM limit really hurts its potentials. You

有信号. 后来用当时NEWEGG的N16的DEAL带的天线接上信号就强了.
另外, DD-WRT里应该可以调节信号强度的. 我过去的WRT54GL信号还不如N16, 也是外置
天线的, 调节信号强度后好一些, 但N16明显更好的. |

无线信号来说，linksys这个valet plus m20比RT-N16给力多了， iperf可以稳定70-80
（TCP），udp 80-90mbps
RT-N16很悲催的只有50-60mbps,机器就放到路由旁边测的
RT-N16用了4年多了，话说这玩意有老化一说吗
asus这个3跟天线看起来很威武，结果还没这么小一个盒子强，我老婆都说这个RT-N16
是样子货
唉
有没有便宜的linksys dual band deal? AC还是太贵了，坐等AC1900 到50刀就准备更

running 24x7, no problem. Last time when rt-n12
died, I decided to run rt-n16 at the end of last year,
hopefully it either dies within warranty or never dies.
The other rt-n16 is in the box never opened. Warry about it

1. RT-N16 CPU比3500L快，闪存啥大很多，能搞出的花样的也多。
2. 这两东东最好都用tomato usb的firmware来做测试。
3. 大多数测评中RT-N16的wireless速度/覆盖比3500L要好好些，overall也是RT-N16胜
出。你对一个N wireless router说你不care....
4. gigabyte router wired-to-wired测试不知道用的是什么方式，这600Mbps+的速度基
本快接近HDD的传输瓶颈了，你这两个结果相差不大有可能有HDD的因素影响(碎片啥的)
。
5. 定位一定要正确，如果你说不care wireless router的wireless的性能的话，直接搞
个10多块的gigabit switch，性能没准比3500L还好。

如果你反过来，N16当猪路由，然后56U只能用2.4G做repeater，5G频段没用了。或者2.
4G用作client去连接N16同时5G设成AP（官方固件肯定弄不了，可以试试padavan），但
这样又浪费了56U的2.4G频段 |

n16, there is also nonoh dialplan sample so you can set to make calls to
China.
It works perfectly with RT-N16, it may also work on other routers with some

用xbox直接播放硬盘里的电影（xbox用hdmi线接了电视）。是不是硬盘分区必须是苹果
家的那种分区（hfs？）如果是ntfs分区，xbox据说是不能播放。如果是fat分区，不能
存大于4G的文件。
有什么好的解决方案吗？
我看国内有一种nas硬盘盒，叫N380存储巴士。可以和xbox共享，可是这边没有买。 |

other choice), hence all firmwares (including Tomato) are impacted with this
issue.
Please note that this is about when IP packets leave/enter the BCM53115 (whe
n the ethernet driver is used), that is routing case (WAN-LAN, LAN-WAN perfo
rmance), and file sharing.

line2是nonoh打出。
PAP2每天不定时不能打出电话，需要重新复位RT-n16才能打出电话。但是在故障期间，
接电话没问题，别的电脑上网包括P2P都没有问题。
请问这个可能是怎么一回事？如果没有什么办法的话，考虑换Tomato/DD-wrt了。

according to one DD-WRT guy, for network drive, WL-520 will be 2-3MB/s at
most
and RT-N16 will be 5-6MB/s. That's due to cpu's limit.

2. wired 100Mbs->1000Mbs
3. tomato usb 2.0 support: printer+NAS(这个速度差点,usb 2.0，不过也够了.想快
用wired gigabyte port: 100MB/s)
4. 省钱: 配个好点的NAS和WHS价钱都不止个N16
5. 省电省地方: 和standard alone的NAS/WHS比起来。 |

（1）看到一些tutorial说，按着WPS键，然后插电源
（2）30/30/30也试过了
我是先Time Warner Cable的连到N16,然后连到电脑。电脑上面先设置192.168.1.2固定
IP. 然后拔掉N16电源，然后按照上面说的做的。

ASUS RT-N16刷tomato dualwan，使用2个月，无响应死机多次，原因是BT全速CPU处理
不过来。
后来限速500K/100K，一直稳定使用。

原先用netgear wpn824路由器接cable modem,因为路由器无线信号比较弱，而且网络时
快时慢（不知到Time warner问题还是路由器问题）就换成了RT-N16，
无线信号立刻强了，但也发现奇怪现象，网速立刻飞快，比如打开网页，收email,
可是下载文件的时候出现问题，开始时候飞快，一会儿就减速停了，需要暂停，再开始
，又是飞快，又是减速停止，这样反复几次才能下载完。p2p下载软件也三一样问题。
而且skype也是声音断断续续。总之就是速度快了，但是不连续，还不如以前的老路由
器，虽然慢些，但是至少是连续的。
请问可能是哪里出了问题呢？
