The People's Liberation Army trained and supported the Afghan Mujahidin
during the Soviet war in Afghanistan. China moved its training camps for the
mujahideen from Pakistan into China. Hundreds of millions worth of anti-
aircraft missiles, rocket launchers and machine guns were given to the
Mujahidin by the Chinese. Chinese military advisors and army troops were
present with the Mujahidin during training.[
