screen size, native PDF support, and I was accustomed to the Kindle user

最早的时候，CT尽管一直很烂，比NY/NJ还是强点。而且以前是没有incoming tax的，
吸引一批公司总部来这儿（主要是西南边），1990年，有个Yale的sb叫weicker，竞选
参议员，提口号说在no incoming tax的前提下，把CT赤字问题解决。结果这sb上台，
就征incoming tax。后来，赤字不但没有减少，还增加了，主要原因是政府部门太庞大
。1990到2000年，州政府人员增长比人口增长快6倍，而市政府人员要快4倍，又没有很
好的控制budget的能力。一直以来，sb州长支持工会，把公共项目交给有工会的建筑集
团，使得cost增加9~15%。
总而言之，赤字没搞好，tax就疯涨，收入税，公司税，property tax, 消费税，奢侈
品税，亚马逊税，旅馆税，医院税，租车税都在涨。免税的项目在减少，比如非处方药
，戒烟产品，<$50的鞋子等等。最近的禁枪法案也让不少枪支公司搬离CT。这样，2900
个工作职位和$1.7 billion revenue都没了。现任州长威胁要征hedge fund税，于是

的变差,日益增高的税赋,导致很多人都搬离城市,包括公司,企业.因为来自公司和企业
的税收大幅度减少,而市政府的规模仍然保持原状.并且市政府雇员的收入每年都在保持
一定的增幅(尽管经济下滑,但他们的合同依然不变),不得已不提高居民的地产税.这些
税收不仅养活了市政府的雇员,同样也养活了那些开着奔驰,宝马的不工作的,需要政府
救济的人.
对tax payer真的是很不公平.不止是税增加了,相应的保险等花费也是在以比其它TOWN
更快的增幅在增加.不过,如果不付给白道一些钱,谁又可以来摆平黑道?如有办法尽量搬
离,或者是在那里只租不买. |

疗/福利）非常大的州，而且没有多少raining day fund。福利之类的支出升上去容易
，想降下来就难了，一旦有经济危机，希腊就是样板。只有加税，公司离开加州，再恶
性循环。
也许我太悲观，但是这需要几十年，估计我到时已经退休搬离加州了。 |
