small amount would not be a big deal I guess
according to my DD, it's better to sell and buy back before the gross
income reaching $1000 over the holding years.
So it does need to be watched somewhat closely. Other than this, it seems
great for Roth. MLP has tax exepmtion, its cash distribution is tax free,
and Roth makes its capital gain tax free also.

actually it was a few refing partners who recently went IPO that caught
my eyes and I found they were MLP and holding them needs to deal with some
extra tax issues.
for example, NTI went IPO in last July and it has been taking the
advantage of the low price of Canadian oil. It's unit price has almost
doubled from the IPO price of $13 because its first distribution for just
two months operation was $1.48. We will see what it will deliver for its
next distribution.

to corporations and paying tax for long term capital gains instead of
dividends.
The few refinery MLPs will show what kind of cash cows they are.
NTI is buying western canadian heavy oil for less than $70 and selling
gasolines for ~$150 through its gas stations. Most of the cash flow
will be distributed to unit holders tax free.
ALDW's margin is reduced quite a bit as WTS is approaching WTI. But they

去年没有作研究，用Roth的钱买了一家炼油厂的股票。几个月后才发现是MLP，才发现
MLP的UBTI问题。然后做了一些搜索，感觉没有啥问题，因为本金并不大，只有6K而已。
问了Vanguard, V 说如果没有收到V家的K1表就没问题。
结果上周收到了该炼油厂发来的K1表，研究起来那个头痛。 长话短说， 所有的关于
Current year increase 和Withdrawals&distributions的项目都只有100多刀，远远不
到1000刀的限制。
再次问Vanguard，V说你请专家吧。
没辙了，再做研究。
现在的结论倾向于如果没有收到V家的990T表我就不用担心了。
请教有经验的前辈指点。

发帖数: 678 | 26 K1表格不是说distribution 不超过1000刀就ok么。我的理解是appreciation 以及卖出
带来的收入病不是distribution吧。MLP受UBTI管辖的原意应该是针对distribution的
，因为MLP利润的90%由于作为distribution，而躲避了公司税，UBTI认为distribution
（if >1000)不能再通过IRA避税了。而股份本身增值应该和UBTI无关吧。你所持公司股
份增值获利我觉得应该不在那1000里头。

今天才看到去年有两张schedule k-1, 一个没有distribution, 另外一个12月有110$的
distribution, 但是ETRADE的1099把110$的distribution算成了qualified dividend，
我们保税的时候也没注意。
请教：
1). 这110$应该不用缴税，MLPs的unit是tax deferred, 卖的时候再算, 如何要回来？
2). 这两张schedule k-1 如何补报？

不懂为毛有人在退休账户里放MLP，交两次税，或者没有延迟。
当然如果不到$1k就没事，但那样fidelity也不会收$300。 |

学校各年级从金字塔形的人数分布，逐渐走向柱形
这说明 drop out/mobility 越来越少，
孩子留得住，学得持久，而且读/写能力很强，
发表了好多的文章，家长看了都很高兴。
今年秋季 MLP 的教材就订购了190 多套。 |

发帖数: 654 | 30 我们家6岁的儿子，去年5岁时上了一年的马丽萍一年级语文，今年我给他上一年级暨南。
对比感想，mlp一年级大量的阅读，儿子一直在强记课文。问题是，一个字放在课文里
勉强连猜带记，放在另外一个地方就不认得了。上半学期还能跟上，下半学期，因为上
学期的字好多都忘了，学更多的课文时慢慢的跟不上了。
这样一年下来，字应该是多认识了不少，但是基础很不扎实，我也不确定他到底认识多
少字，常常以为这个字认识了，换一本书问还是不知道。
感觉他这个状态上不了二年级，重读一年级又没意思，我就给他换了暨南的一年级。开
学2个星期了，目前感觉还不错，字的没有mlq教材那么多，但是更扎实。
主要还是因为简单，儿子也有成就感，作业也能自己完成，去年上mlp的时候我必须陪
他做作业否则他自己不懂。 |

到一定程度，就以利润的形式分掉了。利润的大部分免税。股价不涨还是好事。
短炒这个MLP是个很没有意义的事。

大家都预期rig 会把老船放进mlp 圈钱 建新船。sdrl 可都是新船 mlp 在毛子北极圈
的7艘船 nadl的也都是新船。sdrl 如果不在 build new ship 5年就能付清debt 那时
候。现在sdrl的新船还没出来 就有contract secure了。rig 的新船order 还没出去
新船建好还要4年时间 这四年sdrl 先手。另外sdrl 欧洲公司 欧洲负利息 巨债毫无问
题。
