swiss format: a 2-day event with the 1st day qualifying and 2nd day final. A
maximum of 1 board, i.e, 20VP is carried over into the final. In the final,

Rose's team was down by 90, she actually played the next 2 segments (or all,
can't remember) and got back some IMPs significantly to the extent that they
saw hope.
I've played against her a couple of times. It might be true that her bridge is
not top tier, but she surely is decent. Much better than Mr. Deutsch, the
client who has won all the major world championships.

rather strong. I have played against her and her team at regionals and
nationals for many times. She is one of the top women players in US.
Also, Charles Goren is a pro. He started his pro rather late, in his
late thirties. He was a lawyer before that, not successful. I want to
mention George Rosenkranz, Barry Crane, both are top players and famous
clients.
For both of them, their pro's bridge may not be as good as them. They |

mind. BTW that was a red 4H so you can believe 4H is not a joke but 8
solid.(I'm not gonna do detailed analysis here)
Therefore, to keep the squeeze possiblity, you have to retain your 4th spade
as the threat againt RHO, or the throw-in card.
In reality, Meltzer cashed all the diamonds pitching a SPADE. Clearly she was
relying everything on the club break and the squeeze ending wasn't in her
mind.

When it came to light that you had a singleton trump, it's reasonable to play
Greg for short H. Certainly if Greg opened and you made a negative double, it
