请问大家小弟申请ME的PhD 拿到了哥大的ad，联系得出的情况是可能去了需要自费一阶
段，一学期，一年或者两年都不一定。还有的选择是Gatech的PhD offer给钱。两个老
师学术都不错，感觉都有很好的发展潜力。现在很纠结的是钱和生活的问题。在纽约的
话男朋友能找到工作，在亚特兰大的话，可以选的公司就只有一两个，他不一定能拿到
自己喜欢的offer。还有就是这两个学校，回国的话有没有差异，对于以后发展有没什
么优势劣势没有？
希望大家提供一点参考意见。 |

lots of cloning, I fail to do such an easy work. Isolate mouse genomic DNA
by phenol/chloroform,75%ethanol precipitation. Then digest by HindIII
restriction enzyme as follows:
genomic DNA: 2 ug,1ug,and 0.4ug;
HindIII enzyme: 70 units(3.5ul,and different units);
Buffer: 5 ul
add water to 50ul

一直心里面惦记着完成这篇文章，不过总觉得自己虽然看得清路子，但是自身没有达到
之前就发些厥词有些不妥。写完感想1以后已经过去两年了，产业和自身各方面的发展
和我预料的几乎一模一样。所以现在再把2补充上也有些底气和更多的指导意义了。
首先，我想说的是所有学ME,尤其是力学的同修们，你们可能自己都没有意识到自己有
多幸运，就和我当初也意识不到一样。直到现在，自己三年内工资翻了三倍，周围的同
事里面不少都挣得比律师医生还多，才知道其实这个行业是真正的金饭碗，所以，所有
的ME同修们，恭喜你们，总有一天你们当你们看清路子的时候，胜利就是你们的。

离开了炎热的美国，来到了凉爽的加拿大。今晚，我们吃完比萨后，带着小儿看了他久
违的Despicable me-2.
和美国一样，加拿大的电影院也是人山人海，除了电影，各种电动娱乐设施前站满了人
，玩的兴高采烈。进去以后，偌大一个电影厅一会儿就坐满了了，座无虚席，工作人员
跑进来几次让大家不要留任何空位，因为已经完全SOLD OUT了。放眼一看，满厅都是小
孩和他们的父母，当然也不乏专门来看的成年人。
加拿大人和美国人真的很像，看电影的时候都是每家抱个POP CORN，每个人抱杯饮料。
电影前面的广告，也和美国差不多，只不过多了很多加拿大本地的内容，例如某盲人要
横跨加拿大旅行需要捐款啊，某加拿大石油公司需要人们报名去参加挑战极限啊。总之
还是蛮有特色。加拿大的英语听上去，真的和美国英语几乎没有任何区别。

a guy from a small start up company always calls me without any notice...ask
me several technical questions and hung up....
the first couple of times, I tried to be polite...but this is really
annoying....
he keeps calling me almost every other week, asks me whether this design

在版上学到很多东西，也发现ME相关的东西比较少，希望能给广大ME的同胞们一些帮助
。先说下我的背景，2007年暑假，本科毕业，来美直接读ME的PHD。高考很失败，本科
学校在一本中算倒数，美国的学校也就六七十吧，但是老板在这个领域还算牛，比较知
名。我的方向是manufacturing.因为准备年底工作，明年春才能正式毕业，所以没投很
多简历，都是投的比较符合背景，自己比较感兴趣的，总共投了大概4，5家，一个面试
，一个OFFER，在OH，8万，+2500的sign on bonus. FRESH PHD，地点和工资都很满意
了吧。离自己GF也近了将近一半的距离，8小时的LD终于可以缩短了。
大概是从三月分开始投简历的，准备11月左右开始工作。之前从去年初就开始准备简历
