州弗格森市非裔青年布朗被枪杀一案持续发酵，示威活动已蔓延至全美30多个州的170

McCulloch）和皮茨（Pitts)。话分两头。皮茨打小就喜欢数学和哲学，初中时还读过
罗素的《数学原理》，还和罗素通信，罗素爱才，邀请他到英国跟随自己学习逻辑。但
皮茨家里是苦出身，连高中都读不起，英国留学自然未果。他十五岁时，他爸强行要他
退学上班，就像所有爱读书的穷孩子，皮茨一怒就离家出走了。
他打听到偶像罗素那时要到芝加哥大学任教，就只身来到芝加哥，还真见到了罗素，老
罗遂把他推荐给那时也在芝加哥任教的卡尔纳普。 卡尔纳普想看看这孩子到底有多聪
明，就把自己的《语言的逻辑句法》一书送给皮茨，没过一个月，皮茨就看完了，把写
满笔记的原书还给卡尔纳普。
老卡惊为天人，于是给他在芝加哥大学安排了份打扫卫生的工作。别看不起打扫卫生，
电影《心灵捕手》（Good Will Hunting）里马特·达蒙饰演的角色也是在知名大学打

审判，所以不需要全体通过。9/12绝大多数的投票结果就可以了。事实上我们不知道是
否全票。只知道是super-majority，至少9票是反对indictment。

正式审判如果开始，又是陪审团审议而非法官审议，尤其是刑事审判，那么才必须需要
陪审团全体通过或者全体不通过。

美国人布莱克本(Elizabeth Blackburn)、格雷德(Carol Greider)及绍斯塔克(Jack
Szostak)分享2009年诺贝尔医学奖，他们的研究为癌症与年龄老化研究，提供了广泛的
应用前景。布莱克本与格雷德都是女科学家，而绍斯塔克年仅 15岁时便进入安省的麦
基尔大学(McGill University)学习。相关新闻见A18加拿大科学家麦高洛(Ernest
McCulloch)与提尔(James Till)因于60年代初期发现干细胞的存在一度被认为竞争诺贝
尔医学奖的热门人选。但现年78岁的提尔周日在多伦多接受采访时表示，他与83岁的麦
高洛并不期望赢得诺贝尔奖，因为自他们发现干细胞以来「已经有很长时间」。
诺贝尔奖评选委会指出：布莱克本、格雷德与绍斯塔克解决生物学上一大疑问，「即染
色体在细胞分裂过程中是怎样实现完全复制的，同时还能受到保护不至于发生降解。这
一发现增加了人类对细胞的崭新理解，揭示了对疾病机制的更多了解，促进了对潜在新
治疗方式的开发。 」
