背景介绍－下皆网图
曼斯菲尔德山Mount Mansfield是Vermont佛蒙特州最高峰，海拔4393英尺，AMC新英格
兰百岳 #24。山势南北向远看像一张拉长了的人脸［复活岛石像脸］。整座山大部分划
归在Underhill State Park境内，东面山脚下是美国著名的滑雪小镇Stowe。
路线选择：
东西南都有步道上山：南面最简单，有条toll road可以开车到3800英尺左右；东面的
Long Trail坡度最陡，西面的Sunset Ridge Trail风景最好。于是我选择从西面上山，
Laura-Cowles Trail 上，接一小段Long Trail 登顶Chin， Sunset Ridge下。

Sunset Ridge (SR): 3.3 miles / 2600 ft

们想要的。但是，它离铁路线只隔了一个小block，周围都是apartments和商业区。会
不会很吵？这是一个硬伤吗？将来卖的时候会不会有麻烦？
另外除了这个地方，还有哪些社区我们可以考虑，有7，8岁的孩子，还是希望学区好一
些。

靠近mansfield st.,靠近School of Management, School of Forestry, Ingalls Hall
（走路3-5分钟），小区挺安全，周围大部分都是Yale affiliates。
卧室有两扇门，一扇通往客厅和洗手间，另一扇是private entrance,直接通往楼下的
parking lot和laundry room。有简单家具：床，写字桌，中型沙发，两个小closet。
有两个很nice的白人男室友，都是part-time的学生。
Asking $600 or best offer (全包: utilities, high speed internet, off-street
parking).

。Mansfield和Foxboro的学区不如Westwood和Sharon，从全麻州排名来说，算是中上，
中国人要少不少，Mansfield的中国人比Foxboro多些。Mansfield和Foxboro白人占绝大
多数，从白人来看，算是很好的学区，镇子挺安全也Decent，白领和蓝领都有，考虑到
房价和地税，算是Bargain。Foxboro有个Gifted private K-8 学校, the Sage School
。不算太远的Montrose School is a good private college preparatory day school
, 在Medfield, 算是便宜些的私校，但是是女校。Mansfield和Foxboro这样的学区，比
起麻州很多镇子来说算好的，但考虑私校与否主要看家长对教育的态度和孩子未来发展
的期望，有的人送，有的人不送。其实说起来，就是住在Sharon和Acton的这样公认好

带买房子。Westwood, Sharon和Mansfield有火车，连接Boston和Providence，所以除
了开车，两个方向坐火车通勤的也有，比如从Westwood，Sharon，Mansfield坐火车到
Cambridge（火车转红线via South Station）。Boston-Providence/Stoughton Line在
Providence的火车站在State House南，到Brown Unviersity中心差不多半个mile左右
，但是有一段的爬坡路，也可以转BUS。也有在495一带Franklin，甚至Hopkinton买房
。比较极端的我知道一个从Boxborough往Providence通勤的，spouse往Waltham开。这
些镇子各有特点，价位也不同，有相当的选择余地。

My wife and I live near the Willimantic River, and have canoed it several
times. We just purchased kayaks, as the kids have turned into young men, and
the canoe won't hold us all. There is also a boredom factor, the passengers
in our Disco 174 would start bothering each other, and us. The solution was

bass and sunfish, and trout days after they are released in the pond. The
pond in the back of Mansfield Apt. is OK, too.
If you have a car, then mansfield hollow is a great place for crappies, bass
, and sometimes pikes. The creek in willimantic, cross the road of
appartment complex (next to big Y, I can not recall the name at the moment),
has lots of trouts. |
