发帖数: 620 | 4 家里小妞要上学了，当时她妈妈帮他申请了个MAGNET SCHOOL（Douglas），抽签也抽中
了。
但后来一查学校的评分，那边只有6分，比我们这里的BASE SCHOOL（LACY'S） 低很多
（这边评分9分）。
现在我挺犹豫的。 那边的学校看着比这里破旧很多，而且又远，每天可能要花很多时
间接送，唯一的好处就是它是MAGNET SCHOOL，可是这个MAGNET究竟好在哪里我们也说
不上。
这里的BASE SCHOOL离家就几分钟，去年才整个新翻修的，看着很不错，评分9分。
各位有了解到能不能说说，这个MAGNET PROGRAM究竟好在哪里？ 值不值得放弃这边的
学校？ 学校评分和MAGNET PROGRAM到底哪个更重要呢？ 我们该选哪个？

的学生。但是他那个program的班是非常好的，和别的班是不一样的。据我理解，在小
学，Magnet没啥大影响，但是，到了高中，就会有大区别。如果一直是magnet，那么以
后不用抽签。但如果跟不上课，会被让退出。问题是你家是否近，小孩如果一直上
magnet，每天坐校车好像很长，所以我们就没考虑。 |

比如说对于一些GATE学生（Gifted And Talented Education)，他们更需要的是德智体的
全面发展，要参加SPORTS, COMMUNITY SERVICE, ART等等，MAGNET SCHOOL就不能像
PUBLIC
SCHOOL（文中的“綜合高中”）一样满足他们的要求了。
同理，MAGNET SCHOOL也不大适合有学习障碍的学生。
MAGNET SCHOOL的校风好，跟它的政策是有关系的。违反校纪的学生不用通过什么程序就
能
开除；而公立学校里面，有如BURDEN OF PROOF是在校方，学生是INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN
GUILTY，

发帖数: 190 | 20 儿子考上了magnet，小学二年级到五年级，另一个城市的，我们城市没有，但我们已经
买房子在我们城市最好的学区了，如果要去读磁校就需要每个月至少500的房租，另外
在那个城市租房子保持地址，还害怕学校查到了不允许。。。
而且我们明年有70%左右的可能会离开这个州，但如果不离开的话，我就会卖现在的房
子，真正的到那个城市去买房子，单单为孩子上磁校。。。
那个magnet磁校三年级以后的名额都很少，要有人离开才会有位置，大概只招1-5个左
右了，我怕以后没机会进去了，所以想今年就去，虽然代价很大，但因为还有个婴儿要
照顾，非常的忙了，再加上每天接送要2个小时（送，接各1小时），所以老公不同意。
但如果我不换工作，我上班的时候顺便接送他，就只需要额外的40分钟左右，当然他得
上after school了
magnet和我们学区的老师区别不大，区别在学生，我们学校还是有3-5个左右的黑孩子
，22个人一班，有些孩子很不怎么样。
纠结了一个暑假了，现在那边催我们交住房证明了，麻烦大家出出注意啊，谢谢了！！

是10分。女儿现在6岁，明年该上二年级。现在在家门口的小学。我们这个学校是新的
，校舍条件很好，孩子们的家庭条件也比较好。家长里面都是周围公司大学的员工很多
，是教育水平比较高的人群。
我周末去看了一下Magnet School，觉得他们的program好不少，包括学业方面和艺术方
面都有很丰富的选修课，另外因为学校历史长，乐队啊，课外活动啊也多，老师年龄大
一些，很有经验。我们能申请的两所magnet shcool离家都在45 min车程以外的
downtown，有校车接送，车站离家有一点远，但是在孩子能走到的距离。学校所在的地
点是很滥很滥的区，周围往往是低收入家庭。学校的孩子30%来自当地，其余的是坐校
车从很远的地方去的。因为申请人很多，需要决定是否参加抽签。
问过孩子的意见，她比较随便。我女儿身体条件是中等但不爱生病。心智在她的年龄还
好，能照顾好自己的。交朋友上不是特别大方开朗，但是她也不缺伙伴，而且不特别在

我来随便补充一下自己的心得。今年在钓crappie的地方遇到几个牛人老黑，他们用的
lure绝大多数都是以trout magnet为主，我个人认为，钓crappie用trout magnet更好
，因为它更小，相应的jighead重量也更轻。缓慢的presentation是钓crappie的关键，
相信不少人都有体会。
jighead不一定需要用专用的，普通小jighead一样用
颜色很重要，如果你真的想用这个攻crappie，最好买齐颜色。一个老黑的tackle box
里面总共有数十种数百条trout magnet，很不幸他不小心打翻在地上，于是埋着头捡了
十分钟。。。
cast距离地点很重要，因为crappie群居性非常强，你必须要能找到它的school才能钓
爽，这样，远距离能保证你扫过更多水面。我同意lyrock的说法，线上不用加split
shot，这时，如果还想用极轻jighead扔出超远距离的话，有两条路可以走，一条，学
习shimano，用好杆好轮好线，另外一条，就得在bobber上做文章了。
深度重要性一般，大概看着水深和cast方便度给就行了

本来是想买Crappie Magnet的，但又没那耐心等网上的shipping，所以今天下午就跑去
Walmart买了盒Trout Magnet。在得到大、小、老三代LD的同意之后，今天晚饭后飞奔
家附近的一个小Pond。天黑前半个小时，先上了几条Sun Fish, 觉得不够意思就挪了一
下钓点，然后发现可爱皮狂咬钩。十来分钟上了5条，都是7~8寸左右。还跑了好几条，
估计是 sethook 不够力。还是因为Trout Magnet的钩太小了 ？？？
再看看周围，鬼影都没一个了。天黑赶紧收工回家 ...... |

我的问题是，同样的磁场强度下，如果用不同大小的Stir bar， Stir bar的转速一样
么？
我觉得不应该是一样的。 希望得到理论支持。

我不在RTP，不过就我所知的北卡教育体系，来插几句话。
北卡教育体系里有AG program(academically gifted program), 一般各个学校从三年
级开始筛选（identify)这些学习上出众的学生。如果只是moderately gifted(这个要
看各个学区的标准，比如cogAT成绩percentile要求，EOG percentile要求）， 这种
moderately gifted的小孩子就在各个学校里自己组班，相当于一个加强班，是每个学
校都有的。北卡对那些特别gifted的孩子，有专门的学校，在wake county，这些AG
