发帖数: 348 | 4 学校只有那么多坑，不可能都上啊，每年没抽上的人多了去了。我们第一年也没抽上，
第二年运气好抽上了。我收到信都有点不相信，我们小区其他几个同时抽的都没有。我
还感叹这抽签家长也不参与的，如果有人作假我们也不知道。国内的话，抽签就等于靠
条子。
我没有查过法律是否会要County吃官司，教育局的规定就是要抽，我们只有老老实实抽
啊。也没看到没抽上的家长告，不过提意见的倒是不少，所以教育局计划取消Magnet. |

I think all schools in Chapel Hill are good enough. Chapel hill has its own
gift programs, two levels gift programs. 90 to 98% percentile go to AIG, 99%
go to LEAP.

看贴子和询问发现chapel hill还是一个挺不错的地方，但为了孩子还是想学校是第一

magnet school. if you declined it, you are at the mercy of wake county
school system to randomly assign you one. if there are still openings in
your neighbor-hood school, you most likely can still go back. |

He came to the states when he was six. His parents sent him to a private
school first (not expensive, about $200 a month), and taugh him math/reading
after school using the books from http://www.teachercreated.com/retailers/
His parents believed in Chicago manget schools, and wanted him study with
kids from different backgroud, specially those from low-income families. In
that Nov-Dec, his crazy parents sent out application to 15 magnet schools in

我也可以考虑搬家。这和考虑学校的多元化之类的没关系。没人为了让孩子了解社会多
样性，交往各族群，呆在城里烂校的。

new facility last Sept. and has accepted neighborhood kids.
The houses within (Loomis, Jackson, Throop, Van Bruen) are provided by the
city for low-income families. Only one blosk away, the houses on Jackson
between Lafin and Ashland are historic houses, worth 1-2M.
The Skinner North is a magnet school, and I think most kids in the classical
program will choose to go to Skinner North in the new school year starting
in one |

Bergen county, 学生可以考Bergen academy,如果没录取还可以回来上镇上的高中，也
都不错。

TJ has about 30% asian, Blair magnet and RM IB about 40 to 50% asian, maybe
a little more. I am not so sure.
To one individual, it dependents, I know. Just curious how the parents of
those school think and consider, I mean those Chinese parents, of course.

多，家长期望又放得太高，对孩子还是有负面影响的。我一直对我家大的说，你要上

的水平。

acceptance. 41 of Blair magnet graduates will go to UMCP. About 20 of 41 got
the so called Banneker, which cover the 4 years full of tuition+ meal +
board +... (of course, you need to maintain GPA3.2 or something). Some of
lefts got full or half tuition only, but almost all of them placed in the
honor college. I do not know if that make any significance. |
