Staff Chicago Business Journal
Boeing Co. plans to lay off employees as it scales back its workforce on its
747 and 787 airplane programs.
According to Boeing, the reduction of 800 machinist jobs is part of a long-
term plan and doesn't indicate cuts in production rates for either plane,
according to a report by Steve Wilhelm of the Puget Sound Business Journal.

温尼伯(Winnipeg)国际机械师及航空工作者协会714分会(Local 714 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers)主席Lorne Hammerberg称，此次裁员人数占Aveos全国劳工数的近1/3。

更惨的工作吗？一看楼主就没有制造业的工作经验。
美国的工厂里面，工作强度或者技术难度稍为有点要求的工种就是$15起，这还不算那
些社会福利和保险。技术工种像焊工，钣金工和machinist，$20都不好找。而且他们这
些工人都是指望拿overtime的，如果工厂里面活不多，连续几个月每周就40小时的工时
，立马能干的就开始流失。像国内流水线的强度，钱不多了美国人根本不干。中国农民
吃苦耐劳的本领和纪律性是叹为观止的。而且这边EHS，OSHA的各种法规特别多，杂七
杂八附加的成本高很多。很多工业连废料处理就够喝一壶的。
所以制造业回顾美国，最多只是一些自动化程度高的工业而已。
