发布了1.5.0 release candidate 1, 距离正式1.5.0版大概还有一个月。为了中文翻译
，LyX新增加了zh.po 文件。如果你有兴趣，可以下载LyX的subversion版本，用
poeditor或者其他翻译工具翻译zh.po，然后将diff发到lyx-devel mailing list. 如
果对这个过程有什么疑问，可以到lyx-devel上去问。

其实lyx和word有点象， 还是不要多用。
texshop用的是texlive2007, 刚刚推出的， 很大很全， 解压缩之后1.3Gb.
lyx用的是teTex,这个作者已经停止开发了。
但是lyx还没有更新。
安装texshop很简单， 就按照Richard Koch的网站上进行。
然后安装lyx, 不要安装tex, 因为已经有了texlive.
在安装结束后会得到一些错误信息。
因为他会 抱怨没有找到teTex.
只要打开lyx:preferences:paths:path prefix
在最前面加上/usr/texbin 就可以了，这样就可以找到texlive了
我的麻烦在于我下载了fink, fink加了很多路径在lyx里面， 搞的很乱。 |

文章中关于数学部分讲了几点，SWP只有一点不如LYX，
The user also has the possibility to use plain LATEX code. The support for
this is much better implemented in LYX than it is in SWP.
这是个不重要的功能，Lyx也谈不上much better,而这个SWP将来的版本要改进也十分容
易。
有点说SWP不能做word count，这个是作者不熟悉的错误结论
SWP不能做多次undo才是目前最主要的缺点
和纯粹的LaTex Code比，SWP倒是还有些应该改进的地方，但这个就和主题无关了，
估计Lyx也有同样的问题 |

Come on, you are importing self-defined macros. You expect lyx to expand all
your stuff and import? I bet SWP cannot do any better.
Try to clean your .tex file first, or paste some of them into lyx as pure
tex code (ERT).
Those guys will hate SWP since they cannot hand-compile SWP .tex file. lyx
is much better in this sense. Also, as I said before, lyx has much better
support for external packages and pure latex code than SWP.

These problems have been partly addressed, and I would not say lyx 1.5.0 is
ugly (see screenshots in http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/NewInLyX15). You might want to try the new lyx 1.5.0 which will be released this week. |

对 LaTeX 只是在家用，所以总想用一个能忽略底层细节的。
现在想在 Windows 上用其来编辑中文文章，看到lyx 1.5.1出来就试了试。
Windows XP SP2 English with Asian Fonts
下载了lyx 1.5.1 bundle，安装成英文界面，其中把 MikTex 也装上了。
New 了一个文件，输入英文，按 PDF 钮，结果看起来不错。
又New 了一个文件，输入中文，在document >> setting >> language 里改成 Chinese
(simplified)，输入中文，做成标题，按 PDF 钮，报告缺少 CJK.sty。
在MikTex的browse packages工具，费了一些功夫，把网上的cjk,cjk-fonts,miktex-
cjkutils 几个package都安装了。
重新回到 lyx，再试着输出 PDF 文件，得到几条错误，类似于：
l.19 \title{Title????}\maketitle

texshop用的是texlive, 不是teTex.
我现在安装lyx, 但是好像lyx用的tex是tetex.
我安装完lyx,
有下面的信息：
can not create /usr/local/teTex/share/texmf.local/tex/latex directory,
please do so manually.
我想问：
怎么解决这个问题？
重新下载teTex, 可能可以，但是和texlive 好像重复了，浪费。

There are many, but you may be well at home, and be more efficient with
winedit. Try lyx if you are interested. You can get 1.5.0rc2 from ftp://ftp.
devel.lyx.org/pub/lyx/devel/ (it crashes from time to time), or wait until
early next week for 1.5.0.0.. |

对在北美的LyX用户来说，一般使用英文操作系统，写英文文章，使用英文界面其实更
加自然。但对国内用户而言，中文系统更加亲切。在LyX能够直接输入和输出中文后,我
觉得中文翻译还是有用的。在LyX国际化方面，简体中文现在落在了日韩，甚至繁体中
文之后，更不用说欧洲的好多语言了（开发人员大部分在欧洲).
zh_CN.po的翻译已经完成了80-90%, 其实工作量已经不太大了。 |

with the Document>Compressed option on would be malformed on windows.
It was therefore decided to revert to the trusty 1.4.x code in this

blah blah.....
这里有两个问题.1: authorA的引用只是年份,怎么实现?
2: 如果authorB,authorC这个引用里面引用比较多(可能还有authorD,E,F等很多引用),
lyx排版的时候是把所有引用放在同一行,结果是只显示了前面几个人,超出页面长度的
都没有了.有什么办法让lyx自动多行排版吗?

但事实上我的qt4是library是存在的，/usr/lib/下有一份，/usr/share/下面我也做了
一个symbolic link，但是不知为什么总是有这个问题。
google了一阵子，有人说最好没有qt3装在系统里，但是我的matlab和mathematica都用
到qt3的东西，当然我并不懂这些设置究竟是怎么回事。
请问有谁遇 |

, and if your school pays for the site license, SWP is for you. Lyx
1. is available for all operating systems, SWP is windows only
2. is compatible with latex, and you need to clean your SWP .tex file before
it can be compiled cleanly under miktex, not saying under *nix tex systems.
3. has better support for plain latex code and external latex packages like
beamer
4. has useful features like change tracking, instant pre |

Please note that this article is a good read for latex newbies who need to
choose a good latex tool, not for pro users of SWP, Lyx, WinEdit or Vim/
Emacs/Notepad. If you are comfortable with the tool you are using, there is
no reason to switch. |

我们专业，以及相关的几个专业，都是用SWP的，journal方面没有任何问题
而且现在的SWP下的文件，可以save as portable tex，所以不用担心其他没有安装
SWP的人无法编译

作者的工作值得肯定，但说他两个都用得很熟就未必了，至少他关于SWP的几个说法都
错了，最简单一个例子，就是他说SWP不能做word count

第一个是不行，第二个没问题，第三点原文作者认为是个缺点，所以Lyx much better

No advantage if you feel at home with your working style, winedit or word.
For people who need the professional output of latex, do not like to fundle
with font adjustment and try to focus on what they write, and are not
proficient enough to write plain latex, lyx can help them tremendously.
As of unique advantages, I can think of at least two that I do not know any
other latex program offers,
1. change tracking
2. view source (show underlying latex code instantly in a separate win |

而且不完全。如果你能编译lyx/svn的话，应该可以找到很多不满的地方。你也可以等1

LyX不是WYSIWYG, 它叫 WYSIWYM (mean). 没有试过 Bakoma , 不过我很怀疑在多大程
度上它可以做到two-way editing. 诸如说我的beamer幻灯片需要两分钟编译一次，
Bakoma不可能实时显示；有些Latex功能只能够用pdflatex；还有如果我的外部文件(程
序listing etc)改变了。。。
我的意思其实是说Latex的基本思想不是WYSIWYG，没有可能（必要）做到WYSIWYG. |

Anyway, thank you for helping for the translations. You actually do not have
to compile lyx, just get the po file and modify it. I would not recommend
poedit because it re-structures the whole po file and makes huge diffs. I
use vim + vim po plugin http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=695. |
