we should call him Xiao Kim, he is younger than us...
don't know when, but i like his style, first time saw him play live
was at USOpen 2000, he beat Ma Lin but lost to Liqin, both matches
went to 5th(21 points), i got his autograph
4 years later at Chicago, he was a coach for Nyu, watched him warm up
points with his players, still remembered Vincent Tai said Kim still
could beat a lot of guys in the world at that time, top 20 for sure.

i agree with your point, but runner-up deserves half credit as champions,
bronze medal 1/4 to 1/3 depending on 1 or 2 (tied 3rd or 3rd only)
如果给含金量两项指标打分，满分为5分。
奥运含金量 = 2 + 5 = 7 runner-up: 3, bronze: 2
世锦赛含金量 = 5 + 4 = 9 runner-up: 4, bronze: 2
世界杯含金量 = 3 + 2 = 5 runner-up: 2, bronze: 1
再来看看几个一流国手的个人成就：
王励勤： 3×9+4+2X2+2X1 = 33
马琳： 4x5 +3X3+1+ 7 = 37
王皓： 3x5 + 9+3X3+2X4 = 41
张继科： 2x9 + 7 + 5 +2= 32
So Hao > Lin > Liqin > Jike, but Jike has more chances to catch up.... |

I think this is his last big tournament and he is playing all-out so he
doesn't want any regret!
So far, his result is amazing. It will be nice to see him winning the Mens'
singles title!

includes all players who played tournaments in USA, eg in US Open,
the top Chinese players like Ma Lin, Wang Liqin played, so they had
usatt ratings...
by removing the international players, USA doesn't have as many players
over 2600 players as the graph showed.
In less than 1 month ago, the nationals, the champion was 260x, runner-
up was 255x in men's single. |
