很窄精度也比较差，估计没比学术界的文章强多少。coherent beam steering这玩意，
可能钱烧完了也做不到消费级，否则其他更有钱的也不是傻子。Velodyne的16 channel
去年还卖八千，今年能降到一千以内，还是他们又要减配了？ |

its sytatics and structure. When I had problem, I will look at the keywords
through keyword editor, then consult the Keyword manual and Standard manual.

推荐信里面不要有任何negative东西，比如ENglish improved。
commecial 推荐信，都是一样模板。
把所有东西take serious，面试自然而然就来了
内科tough，ob经历非常重要，一定要会干活，在clinic 和hospital完全不同，一定要
有inpatient healthcare 经历， 最重要反应在推荐信上。内科特别看重分数！只要分
数好，后面什么都可以弥补。 我申请120 program，拿到十个面试， 申请了family
mediicne 76个， 面试时0，因为我没有绿卡， 对于FM非常tough，分数倒不是那么重
要。申请之前要对自己有个好的定位，我foucus 在primary care，我在fm的ps，重点
突出自己的obgyn 的经历，更加强调整体。有的面试，给你个主诉，或者说我头疼，你
问诊把！
Q：你以前在国内做眼科，现在你做内科，当你准备你ps或者cv的时候，你怎么避免这
个会给你带来不必要的麻烦？

一个是Applied Time Series, 用的教材是Analysis of Financial Time Series, 一个
是Stat Data Mining, 用的是The elements of statistical learing.
以前学过time series的课程，但是不是讲在金融方向的应用的。没有学过data mining
的课，所以很想去听听。只是不清楚data mining主要在金融的那个领域应用的比较多

我们学校不是top的，我博士期间做的主要是偏理论的（用实验和统计的方法研究人在
虚拟环境里的感知及行为）。 我没有学过machine learning, 但有一些c++的编程基础
和学过AI.
听几位前辈都说machine learing 重要，是指在工作中经常用到吗？需要为面试专门准
备一下吗？
活着还有什么其他skill需要准备的吗？

highly correlated. So very high VIF score.
Any suggestions?
Some suggest to centerize the orginal variable (transform the variable into
its deviation from the mean). But after the transformation, how to interpret
the coefficents.

在这里混了大半年了，也没啥贡献，虽然获得多多。从俺家杜大杜二刚进门到现在，从这
里学了知识，也得了乐趣。实在是喜欢咱这版上的MM，GG，SS，和所有的宝贝们，以及宝贝
的家长们。
俺这里技术上没问题，Cterm啥的该有就有。实在有问题俺LG肯定义不容辞帮俺，俺两个
臭皮匠还该能趟水过河的没大问题吧。就是时间上，打算明年结束这个 Permanent Head
Damage 的过程，所以不敢说每天都来一个几个小时，但每星期还是可以保证一定时间(俺
这几个月来基本上唯一的网上娱乐就是来pets版了，俺LG要想知道俺不务正业了多少时间，
来这里同作者一下下就都知道了)，当然要是出去开个会啥的，玩玩啥的，可能一个礼拜见
不着影子也可能，嘿嘿，这时丑话先说在前了。
不过啊，想来以后要是真工作了，还不是要练就的同时 manage several projects，从
pets版练起也好啊。
一个想法，就是俺一向以为BBS这样的 discussion group，提供的信息往往因为没有
peer review 的机制，可作为参 |

大家千萬别吃 Canola 油
大約是十幾年前，市面上突然出現了一種新的烹飪油，英文叫做Canola Oil。起先只有
在專賣”健康自然產品”的店裡才能看到，但是因為政府及私人公司都廣為宣傳這種油
的好處：純植物提煉、不飽和性脂肪、低膽固醇、比別的植物油還理想…云云。既然連
政府都這麼說，大概是不會錯了；於是乎關心自己和家人健康的朋友，都紛紛買回去做
菜。它在北美洲的銷路直線上升，沒多久也引進了台灣。
但是，Canola油到底是什麼東西做的呢？其他的油都可以從名字望文生義：如橄欖油，
當然是橄欖的油；花生油是花生仁的油；椰子油是椰子果實的油…等等。筆者心生疑惑
，查了極詳備的東華大辭典，竟然沒有這個字。
去年某日，筆者重聽雷博士在四、五年前演講的錄音帶，赫然得到了答案。正巧又有一
位琉璃光的朋友轉來一篇網上有關此油的文章，恰印證了雷博士所言。筆者知道有不少
朋友還在用這種油，當即轉發此文給一些能看英文的朋友。數天之後，有一位本地朋友
