1996-06-30 日上三杆，我照例先在希尔顿吃了4-5大盘阿拉斯加皇帝蟹 [11美元，但买
1000美元泥码就送一张餐券。泥码是只能输掉不能直接兑换现金的筹码，但赢的是普通
筹码，而把泥码在赌桌上输输赢赢换成普通筹码的过程叫洗码]，然后开车到日落赌场洗
码。
我总是身穿马国女友给我买的38吋腰围牛仔短裤因为它有六个口袋而且非常结实，到现
在都一点儿没损坏！腰间扎一赌场送给泥码赌客的真皮黑色腰包，也有五个口袋。
你要那么多口袋干什么？
因为当时有四五家赌场卖泥码，加上各赌场换回来的普通筹码，要另外放的大额筹码,
各赌场的免费餐券和各种折扣券，各种贵宾卡，信用卡, 现金, 硬币, 手机，账本，钥
匙等等，还真得要这么多口袋！
于是，一个身高164， 腰围38吋，腰包鼓鼓， 口袋鼓鼓的怪物出现在日落赌场21点赌桌
旁。
我刚要照例寻找当时手气比较差的发牌员下注，突然发现发牌员身旁站着两个西装老人

第二章 我当初是怎么走上洗码之路的
1986，我在南加大读博没有绿卡居然进了美国当时最大的电力公司旧金山太平洋电力调
度中心并成为铁饭碗正式职工[我虽曾有专文描述此过程，想想还是不在这里吹的好]
一下子没了压力，五点下班后突然不知干什么好。
那时我已离婚一年多，公司又在给我办绿卡，所以我在世界日报多次征婚。之所以多次
是因为一上来我太外行了，例如我居然把A 型血作为卖点！其实那是女人的卖点，男人
O 型才是卖点 [我2000才在香港最贵的半山医院两次验血证明是O 型，幸亏1980-2000我
认为我A 型这20年没输过血，大陆以前的医院真#￥%啊！]
由于大陆人那时很土，被海外华人看不起，更何况我高三尺宽二尺八，数十年来由于功
课好总是收到班上漂漂女同学情书什么的所以眼界反而特别高，那时大陆留学生绿卡在
望又单身的不知全美有没有十个？
总之，以上强烈的反差使我在同几个初选合格的旧金山华女见面后充分认识到必须打持
久战，要做好长期单身的思想准备[22年后的今天，我仍然单身]

will start soon for office of generic drugs. Tobacco is also hiring quite a

中国建筑个体的平面多为简单的矩形，单纯而规整。如果说西方宗教建筑艺术主要体现
在个体建筑所表现的恢宏与壮丽上，那么中国庙宇的建筑艺术则主要通过建筑群体来表
现出博大与壮观。追求人与自然融合相亲的庙宇，祥和宁静，悠闲自得。人字顶、双斜
面、飞檐斗拱，四角落地的建筑方法，不仅显得总体稳定、牢固；而且通风，透气、采
光，散热十分合理。
位于San Jose的宝华禅寺就是这样一座典型的中国式庙宇，由几座建筑形式类似的殿宇
构成，平面方形，对称稳重且整饬严谨，琉璃瓦顶，飞檐上翘，前有牌坊式的山门，内
有庄严古朴的建筑群。其规模很大，在寸土寸金的湾区，应该可算是最大的一座传统的
佛家庙宇了。
每年农历的年三十夜，这里是最热闹的，挤满了前来上年初一第一柱香的信徒。同时，
也是警察严阵以待的一个地方，信徒们倒不会闹事，但是总有人要依中国传统，放几个
爆竹解解秽，警察们就在人群中穿梭著找寻永远也抓不到的放爆竹的人们，竟成一景。

should be a manager kind of person in the company and I will consider
something different from a manager's perspective, why I will feel pressure
from a technical LaoZhong guy? I don't understand.
Maybe OP is a techinical guy who think he has the power to influence his
boss's decision. |

国人聚集的地方，经常幽灵闪现，只是不同的人，表现程度不同：
1、对外国人（尤其是白人）如狗，对同胞如虎--- 几乎所有postdog，尤其technican
，对白人老板，像祖宗一样， 具尽供奉，奉承 之能事，有时，我想，狗，也不过如此
吧。
2、上班时间怕别人在干别的，连大、小便或喝水都在跟踪或每隔一个小时左右在暗中
跟踪 ---生怕自己的一亩三分地被别人给占领了，尽勾心斗角之能事，揣摩老板心思：
表面像人一样，背地里尽搜刮老板，同事机密之能事。恐怕业余侦探也不过如此。
3、工作时间超长，特别是要求周末、晚上加班；更甚者，要签到、签离。---生怕项目
结束，给老板踢走，超时加班，让老板觉得，雇用这个苦力，比buffet打工的华人都划
算。下个10万的项目，只有此人才能抗的起3年。
4、一听到手下的人与别人谈话，马上跑过来中断他人谈话 （怕人偷懒）：所有gossip
，只有白人之间不知道的，没有华人之间传不遍的。
5、若手下有一点微不足道的错便夸达其词，用什么Fuxxking乱骂人（连原来的导师一

H. Robert Horvitz 因在细胞凋亡的遗传基础方面的工作2002年获得诺贝尔奖.
Suzanne Cory,Stanley Korsmeyer(2005年过世)，John Reed等在Bcl-2家族蛋白的研究
工作。
Craig B Thompson在细胞凋亡机理和疾病关系方面做了大量关系，据说人品不是特别好

being a lawyer can make me big money, but whether I would enjoy it and do it
well. after all, I bet everybody who successfully got in T14 must be
competent
enough to succeed in many other things. being a mediocre and unhappy lawyer
just for the "starting salary" number is so not worth it.
