日本发生强烈地震及海啸后，现任东京都知事的作家及政治家石原慎太郎(Shintaro
Ishihara)发表了天谴论，这已经不是他第一次失言了。石原称，此次地震是当代日本
人的自私所引发的天谴。他说，日本人有必要利用这次海啸把自私的贪欲冲洗干净，长
期以来，这种自私就像细菌一样附着在日本人的思想意识中。
事实上，这正是日本右翼团体长期以来一直鼓吹的言论：日本年轻人只考虑自己，太过
个人主义，失去了日本人原先所具有的顺从、自律的集体精神，这种精神支持下的日本
人应该总是把国家利益摆在个人利益之前。
石原慎太郎未能逃脱舆论的强烈谴责。上述言论一出，立即引发了愤怒的声讨，指责他
