joy luck对于我们来说不顺路，来美国两年只去了三次，加上昨天第四次。buffet
点菜各两次。
前些日子板上有人说joy luck新出了几道菜，本来想去尝新的，但是后来去了鸿运
楼（真是骗钱啊，居然这期的圣路易斯时报上还有专门的介绍，大家不要上当啊）
。昨天去joy luck，本来想点那几个介绍的新菜的。结果点菜的时候死活想不起来
是什么了（鄙视一下自己）。不过他老板家是经常去，所以也知道一些好吃的。上
来就给我老公点了一个他最爱的肘子（汗~~看来俺老公声名在外阿），干烧的，很
好吃。好象叫香辣肘子？
然后是一个酸菜鱼汤。又点了一个香辣鱼块。我本来点了一个鱼香茄子，结果居然
没有茄子，换了干煸四季豆。另送了一碟凉拌海带丝。
先说海带丝。凉菜，一般拉。我也能拌出这个味道来。不过海带丝减肥的，建议向
减肥的GGMM们多次，想当年我们宿舍7个mm某个晚上心血来潮，光吃海带丝，吃完去
买，吃完去买，跑了五趟，买了8份！最后一趟跑过去别人直接送了一份，也没问要
钱了。呵呵。不过那个海带丝拌的真是好吃L*⑹毫6j辌牅皣 ,?s=躿?J菓竎D譣婟t轌 |

本书是姐妹篇。非常惊讶于这个土生土长于美国的人能把30-60年代的中国写得那么逼
真。
《Shanghai Girls》讲30年代一对上海的富家姐妹，本来在上海有富足的生活，却因为
父亲突然破产而被卖给了一个移民美国的广东人，这个人是来中国给他的儿子们买老婆
再带去美国的。故事一开始讲两姐妹在十里洋场的奢华生活，然后急转直下到上海的沦
陷，父亲失踪，两姐妹和母亲逃离上海，姐姐和母亲被日本宪兵强奸，母亲因此丧命。
写母亲离世时的细节非常令人动容。最后两姐妹走投无路，只好找出广东人留给她们的
船票，从香港出发去旧金山。书的后半部分就是讲两姐妹在洛杉矶中国城的生活，这一
部分的背景非常真实，因为作者就是在那儿长大的。
《Dreams of Joy》讲第二代的故事。姐姐的女儿（其实是妹妹的私生女）在大学参加
有共产主义色彩的小团体，又偶尔知道了自己的身世，执意回到了50年代上海帮助建设
新中国和寻找亲生父亲。

易懂的菜谱“The Joy of Cooking"
我刚学做西式菜的时候，很多词汇对不上号。经常是自作聪明搞substitute.然后弄出
一锅四不象。后来我的美国朋友推荐了“The Joy of Cooking". 这部菜谱最早出版于
1930's.到现在已再版了不知多少次。2006 年，这书又经过一次修改和更新。这本书不
仅收录了菜谱，而且详细的介绍各种cooking terminology. It is very helpful if
you are starting from "ground zero".
我买了这本书之后，成功的做了carrot bread, zuchinni bread, brownie, wheat
bran muffins, artichoke, brussel sprouts。。。
希望有兴趣学习西式烹饪的朋友们能从中受益。

首先要承认的是，美国的确比中国好，从经济，法律，社会治安，社会保障，基础设施
，医疗水平等各方面上看，世界第一强国不是吹出来的，但是美国也不是像她的名字那

说明。
误导一：收入： 美国人均工资四，五千美金一个月。
美国的统计人均年薪是三万五千美金，这好比是高盛2009年人均薪酬77.5万美金，但是
我认识的在会计部门工作的员工加奖金刚到10万美金，所以说人均是被拉起来的。律所
，投行，基金，银行，医生等行业的薪资水平远高于其他行业，大城市的收入也会比中
小城市和农村高一些。在纽约这样的大城市，一份正常行业白领工作的薪水在4.5-9万

上档次的“D800”拍妹子云云，据说在京城摄影圈还小有名气，然后拍了几个挺漂亮的

前一阵子因为上海要开china joy, 这哥们跑去发广告，说给模特妹子免费拍私房（据

然后昨天还真打起来了......黄尚武一出场就笑死，别说185，估计170都悬，瘦的跟麻
秆一样。提了根棍子，带了俩保镖。陶然那边就一个人来得，无数围观群众。俩人刚动
