his RBI, his run..His overall stats. But once Yankees in playoff, it's totally
totally different story. I still believe no-underdog in playoff in any pro

而yanks 呢， Giambi, Bernie上个塞季都是职业生涯最低潮，Jeter 伤了两个月Matsui
还处在适应阶段，仍然可以beat boston。当然由于那些原因，是近几年最险的一次.
我想说的是，都正常发挥的话， yankees实力当在boston之上。要不然，cashman就该回
家种地去了。当然baseball意外情况很多，不全是实力说话，有超常和失常发挥。

too much to be reasonable. It seems nowadays signing any position
player a large contract over 4 years is risky. You have to wonder
"what if he tanks in" just like Giambi did in NYY. |

The loss of Nick Johnson this coming season is really a killer,
he made some very very difficult plays at 1B, also his batting is daunting

0.7场defensive。不过由于他们将把A-rod换到3B，可能防守上的好处就没有
那么多了。客观估计大约是3场左右。
付出的代价是：16M-5M=11M，基本上是这两年，因为过两年Soriano eligible
for free agency，估计不会低于12M。
也就是说，秧鸡这两年每年多花11M+奢侈税，可能差不多达到20M左右，换
回每年多赢三场比赛。
不过加上A-rod的明星效应，卖卖周边产品，估计也能赚回一点。
最合理的是让A-rod打SS，Jeter换去2B或者CF，不过暂时不可能发生。
当然，这笔帐对其他任何球队来说都不合算，但是如果Yankees能够因此拿回
世界冠军，George Steinbrenner肯定不会心疼的。

jeter led off, got jammed by a fastball inside,
weak ground ball to shortstop for the first out of the season.
matui batted 2nd and worked patiently to a 3-1 count.
zambrano decided to challenge him with a fastball down the middle,
which matui ripped hard to the gap for a standup double.
next came arod's first AB in pinstripe uniform.
with 1st base open, zambrano didn't throw anything hittable
and got him looking with a beautiful 2-2 curveball.

纷崇尚的红袜的灵魂+代表人物是NOMAR.就象JETER是养鸡的代表一样,总觉得NOMAR在红袜
的地位是不可动摇的.
然后就是红袜上层求变的种种策略.先是要换走满泥,因为种种原因不成功,后来居然搭上
了NOMAR.其实一个AROD真的就比满泥好多少吗?当然想要的人总是觉得值得才会去交易.也
因此弄的满城风雨并且最终失败的交易,满泥和NOMAR有了被叛的感觉.满泥就且不说了,NO
MAR作为外人眼里的红袜的ICON,被这么对待有气也是可以原谅的.IT之前在红袜的可能的
灵魂地位,到这个事件后,也就剩下些酸味了.会不会被TRADE走,好象也是迟早的事情.
后来就开始了进军PLAYOFF的历程.要偶说,后NOMAR时代的红袜,好些人都可以做灵魂来着.

the franchise" because he is too popular in fans. But he is too humble and
quiet to be a leader. 不愿讲话, 不愿接触媒体. 比赛场上也极少见到他emotional,
即便打个HR也闷头遛回dugout. 不像jeter动不动就pump fist作NB轰轰状, 哪怕只打了个
infield single.
