NEJM published an article in October 2004 that showed that interns working
in an ICU made 36 percent more serious medical errors during a traditional

I am reading the book <> by Sandeep Jauhar. A lot of people on this
board have read this book. Dr. Jauhar is a cardiologist right now. But he
didn't want to pursue medical career at first and got a Ph.D. in physics
before he changed his mind later and finally graduated from Wash.U. med
school.
I firmly believe LZ and sunshadow will fulfill your dreams, even though the
path is bound to be hard and long. |

I recently came across your book...in fact I became acquainted with it while
browsing a table at the Borders bookstore in Manhattan! It has been a truly
wonderful read so far! THANK YOU!
I'd been looking online for certain things, trying to do research, even
speaking to family members in the profession, but no one really gave me
detailed insight.
My questions are a bit unconventional but I will ask anyway. I am with
someone who is a 1st year resident—he wants to get into cardiol |

你的那些聽說都對，你的假設(是否該即早準備Step 1)也對，但問題是在你要能先準備
的話那上醫學院幹啥呢?
現在大部份學校早上的課一上完就放網上，不少人根本不去教室，按自己的節奏網上學
說不定更有效率。只要你平時上課考試保持前20~30%，考起Step 1只要正常準備就不會
差太多。大部份醫學院會在考前讓學生自行複習，一般都是六周，也有長達八週甚至
更多些的。這時間不多，但也不至於不夠。
你的新同學裡搞不好有一半沒修過Biochem或Cell Bio，更甭提Anatomy或其它玩藝了。
真正關鍵是MS1/2中吸收新知的速度和記性，這兩者可沒法準備。
有空找幾本Atul Gawande或Sandeep Jauhar的書讀讀收穫會更大。
