We headed to Hagia Sophia first thing in the morning. "Hagia Sophia"
means "Holly Wisdom" in English. It also went through the "Christine
Church" to "Mosque" to "Museum" transition. It's much bigger than the
Kariye Museum we went the previous day. Despite the marvelous
decorations and architectural beauties of Hagia Sophia, the real
celebrity of that day turned out to be a little kitten seeking warmth on
a spotlight.

Planning
We started contemplating this trip last summer. Originally, we were
thinking maybe one week two countries, but as time went by our (mostly
LP's)ambition exploded and the itinerary grew longer and longer.
Istanbul was a surprise for me. "What's there to see in Istanbul," was
my first and ignorant (as I was brutally made aware of later :P)

We got up pretty early (by LP's standard anyways :P). The hotel provided
a simple breakfast in the terrace. I especially liked the goat cheese
with honey. It's actually funny how I just came up with mixing the two
which, as I found out later in Cyprus, is a type of dessert for locals.
LP loved their cucumber and tomato (not to be confused with the huge and
tasteless kinda from the American supermarkets).

The highlight of the day was a cruise we took in the afternoon. Before
that, we went to the spice bazaar, basically like China's Xiao Shang
Ping market. For lunch, we took on WikiTrvel's recommendation: the
little diner called Sedef. We ordered kinda like a lamb burger. LP
thought it was okay. It was too strong for my taste though.
The afternoon cruise was fantastic! A tour bus drove us from the hotel

我去过的城市也就Istanbul的地铁和电车设计的那么烂和没人性的，除了那条绿色的
地铁线到他们的central business district算是宽一点和人性化，其他的你就等着咒
骂吧。他们地铁换线是要出战，然后再走几个路口， 然后再进站才可以乘换到另外一
条线的。 那个机场地铁线真够烂和窄，也没有几个位置。 |

Day 1
The taxi ride from the airport to the hotel was very pleasant. We got a
glimpse of the fish market by the water and also the old buildings and
small alleys of the old city center where our hotel resides.
It was close to 6pm when we arrived. The guy at the front desk didn't
speak very good English but was super nice. While waiting for the

We spent our last half day in the Topikia Palace. It was not as marvelous
as I had imagined especially when compared with Forbidden City or
Versailles. Nonetheless it took us a long time to visit the four quarters
and the harem. On our way to the airport, we bumped into another Lei Feng.
He didn't only guide us all the way from the tram station to the correct

Syntagma Square is about 30min away from the airport by the blue line metro.
After transferring to the red line and a short taxi ride we arrived at
Hotel Ilissos. I was kinda worried before checking into the room. LP had
been complaining about the hotel in Istanbul. Since I was the one who booked
all the hotels I felt bad whenever she complained even though I totally

天走两国时间实在太仓促，再加上冬天希腊各岛之间轮渡纷纷取消，所以...火鸡国，
我来啦！！！
第一天
傍晚的飞机。经Frankfurt飞往Istanbul。 转机时间只有一个小时十分钟，而
Frankfurt机场又以大而无当著名。所以考虑再三还是没有托运行李，直接随身，好处
是避免因为转机时间不够行李不能同机到达（因为一到Istanbul我们就要换国内航班飞
到Cappadocia）,坏处是没想到过安检的时候洗面奶和牙膏超过规定尺寸被搜出来，只
好扔掉了事。
第二天
到达Frankfurt，迟到近十五分钟，使得本来就紧张的转机时间不到一个钟头。好在不
用过欧盟海关，走了长长的路坐了接驳火车，再过安检，终于到达登记口，耗时三十分
钟不到。不过飞Istanbul的航班晚点，等了近一个钟头。好在订的去Cappadocia的航班
的预留的转机时间将近四个小时，否则就头大了。建议大家还是把转机时间尽量放宽，
尤其如果要过海关的话，在机场傻等总比误机好。

先把背景介绍一下：LD平时工作很忙，出门旅游最多9天，不喜欢拉着行李在地铁里上
上下下，不想租车，不想在一个地方多呆，也不想换太多的旅馆，最好就是走马观花的
CRUISE精华游,又轻松. 所以我就安排了这个行程。时间是9月下旬，不会太热，又过了
暑假高峰。
然后再贴个行程预告：
Day 0: 坐晚上的飞机飞Istanbul.
Day 1: 中午到Istanbul.
Day 2: Istanbul。
Day 3: Istanbul,下午飞雅典。
Day 4: 11 am 开始5天4晚的希腊群岛的游轮。选择这个游轮是因为行程比较紧凑，没
有一整天在海上，而且去的岛比较多而且有名。
Day 4：下午Mykonos岛 (6pm-11pm)。
Day 5：早上Kusadasi (Ephessos), Turkey(7 am-12pm)。

发帖数: 13407 | 34 4,5月初去ISTANBUL正好, 我当时是5月中去到的ISTANBUL, 基本晒死, 7天下来黑了不
少. 土耳其我除了ISTANBUL外, 其它地方还没去过, 因为当时并不是存心要去ISTANBUL
的, 只是从CIS国家出来回美国, 必须经过ISTANBUL才去的(因为航空公司只此一家,
Turkish Airline). Istanbul抓紧点3,4天应该可以了,因为基本最著名的几大景点都在
Old City, 交通极其方便. 我是一个人玩, 加上对Muslim一直很感兴趣, 所以基本大点
的当地人给推荐的几个MOSQUE都逛了遍, 然后还去了Prince Island那看看, 剩下的时间就是闲着逛街, 看
路人......
VISA我是在CIS国家签的, 当时(09年3月)收费30USD的样子, 签证大叔人很好,我在使馆
等他给我帖VISA时, 他还让我尝土耳其的apple tea, 太好了...... |

不如Ottoman王宫---这里指突厥人盖的北面的Dolmabahce Palace(大名鼎鼎的Turkish
Harem所在)，Byzantine时代的Sultanahmet就不说了，更厉害；天坛不如Alipasa Cami
；居庸关跟Rumeli Fortress一比就是个joke。。。不过明长城确实庞大，这点土耳其
没有可以比拟的东西。总体看突厥在强盛时期超过同时期的中华文明无压力。任何眼睛

为什么不比较15世纪之前？因为突厥人1453年才拿下Istanbul！

(CNN) -- A Pegasus Airlines plane landed at an Istanbul airport Friday after
