找工找了半年多了，一直木有offer，interview也是青黄不接，昨天居然接到了2个
call for interview!加上1个周一收到的call for interview,一共3个！
第一个还是我的dream job: research coordinator, 哈哈，其实也就是lab manager的
头衔，其实也就是个phone interview，但是我实在很高兴啊，因为PI是个chair啊，我
主要负责管显微镜啊，不用做很多试验啊，啦啦啦
另外2个是biological scientist, 都是正式的面试，一个是在血液实验室的另外一个
是在妇科实验室的
实在是感恩节的奇迹！

something like would you be interested for an onsite interview at the end of
our phone interview, that would have made my day! cuz like what i said in
my post, some of the phone interviews that i had in the past basically
offered me an onsite at the end of the phone interview and this time, it

shown that the interview is scheduled at Dec. 7. But I still not get the
interview notice yet. I called uscis, they say without the interview notice
I can not go to the interview. I don't know what should i do now. Does any

The interview was the worst interview in my life but the result was the best
The interview took around 2 hours and 30 minutes !!!!!!!!!
It looked the IO did not know about EB1-EA and told me IO got the document
in the morning of the interview date. I will not mention about the normal
things in this post.
The interview was started with a QUESTION "Did you get a Nobel Prize ?". I
said 'NO', and my lawyer told IO "if I have a Nobel prize, we would not be
here". |

通知，“We have taken an action on your case”，去网站上一看，“We canceled
your interview”。。。。。。
话说之前的一个状态还是transfer，没有任何中间过渡，比如ready for interview，
scheduling your interview啥的，直接跳到了“We canceled your interview”。
想请问版上有大家遇到过类似的情况吗？你们的interview多久就被安排了呢？ |

RD 2/2014
AD 6/2015
6月21日收到的welcome letter。24收到了卡。主副申请人同时绿。
去年2月降级。之后一直觉得很倒霉。指纹打了2次都没有过，因此去年5月份被RFE。当
时只交了一个州的无犯罪证明，排期就倒退了。一下子又等了一年。
今年2月好不容易又current，赶紧催绿，发SR, 找议员。感觉还是找议员有用。一个议
员给了明确恢复。但是催的结果是，case被转到了local office, 而且还要做
interview. 更倒霉的是，收到转local office notice的同一天，被公司裁员了。后来
比较幸运的是，在短时间内找了个下家，通过了interview.

position. The manager also gave me an offline interview question.
I did not give it much thought and sent the solution back. Then
I googled the problem afterward. It was the same as this one.

interview in their office. I don't have any experience in interview with law
firms.
In general, whom will I meet during the whole interview? What is the format
of the interview? Is a presentation required? Will the questions they ask
more focused on technical (since it is technology specialist postition) or
behavioral side? One-on-one meeting or group interview?

大家在整个过程中表现出来的可贵品质和credential就不多说了，我跟大家分享一下大
家报名和面试中暴露的一些问题：
1、 面试准备：给大家的信中多次强调要自带一份CV、 PS还是有好几个兄弟姐妹没
带。好在Alex给每个人都打了一份。如果真的面试，program也忘了打印或者弄混了材
料，你就惨了。
2、 语速问题：几个interviewer都跟我讲大家一个普遍的问题是语速太快，你的问
题准备的再熟也得Slow down, 快了就容易吃音，如果interviewer面试的时候都不能
follow你，她会担心半夜3点你给她打电话汇报病例的时候她能不能听清楚。
3、 语调：语调太平会让人觉得你精力不够，说实话，咱们这年龄大的偏多，人家
很担心你能不能第一年吃得消，如果你的语调没有起伏，让人入睡，面试官会对你的精
力提出质疑。
4、 紧张：很多人太紧张。其中一个面试官Selina跟我说，很多人背景都很好，但
是紧张得不得了，这只是mock interview，真正interview得紧张成啥样？人一紧张，

Overall, I think they all have good package. Here is what I learned:
1. English language is generally not a problem.
2. LORs are very important for an applicants to learn your strength so you
can speak out during the interview - unfortunately many people waived their

家有用。
1.把mock interview 当作real interview 去准备。作为CME， 我们从小接受的这方面
训练非常有限。ACAP 给我们这种真枪实弹的演练机会，而且是和许多非常有经验的专
家，大家一定要抓住这种机会， 精心准备，就像准备自己的第一个real interview。
从服装，举止，表情，言谈举止这些小节， 到具体的每个常见question，一定要精心
准备。只有你自己认真做足功课，别人才能最大限度的帮助你，你要是真的把它看作作
演习，那么你也只能得到别人和你一起演戏：)
2.多准备点自己的CV，PS。你不知道你会遇到谁，机会永远青睐有准备的人。
3.多和其他同学交流，show your communication skill,show you are a real team
player, 好多东西仅仅写在纸上是不够的。。。。
4.准备做些extra 的工作。 这次有110个参加者，组织工作只靠几个volunteer是不够

昨天有幸看了下两位大牛面试经验的访谈总结，正好借着这东风尽我所能也comment一
下大家问的几个问题：
Q:小蜜可以给面试么？不行，小蜜肯定是给不了的，但首先要知道跟你聊的这个人是不
是小蜜。。。在小一点的医院里边，职能分工可能没那么清晰, 有几种可能：１）有些
人是在IM兼职小蜜，但可能是另一个部门的manager；２）还有一些项目不但有PD，还
有administrator,介个人很可能是可以给IV的；3)有些小蜜那就不是小蜜啊，那是那个
部门的妈啊，你要是录取了以后，今后那也是你“妈”，keep everyone in the
department in check, 这种老太太可能已经跟了好几个PD了，新PD有事儿还得问她。
。。anyway, 越小的医院越人多口杂，无论你跟谁说话都要保证两点:1)要nice, 2) 要
smart，不要重复强调一些很明显的问题，最好也别一个问题问好几遍。之前医院HR的
经验告诉我基本上这样的您挂电话，后边的评论就出来了：这人怎么这么不开窍啊，或
者这英语都说不利落还想申请呢。。。

看了您的文章， 让我想起网上看到的一个很智慧的说法：当一只鸡放在你面前，你看
不到美味的鸡肉，时刻只想着鸡屎，你的人生不恶心都难。
既然你有自知之明：资质愚钝，或朽木不可雕刻。老毕业生，成绩平平，
也有明确的目的：满怀希望通过该mock interview提高自己handle免试的能力。
提高自己handle面试的能力，是指雇一些丁春秋的弟子，搜肠刮肚地找出您所有似有似
无的优点， 摇旗擂鼓地歌颂您一番，您就可以信心爆棚地踏平每个面试？
如果您觉得ACAP面试官的问题“冷冷的，略有嘲讽的质疑”折辱了您， 那你应该明白
真正面试时比这些刁钻古怪的问题还更多。
除了个别真正变态的面试官外，能问你这些“您觉得被折辱”问题人，都是您应该五体
投地感谢地。 因为他没有像别人那样，只看到“老毕业生，成绩平平”表象， 就省
心省事地把您pass 掉了。 他们还在投入自己的时间精力脑细胞，给你机会让你告诉他

questions, but rather they just encourage me to ask them questions regarding
the job/company/etc. I realize that every interviewer has a different style
, but when I come across interviews such as this, it always throws me off
because I wonder how they are able to judge my qualifications if they are

了，人家招的是associate.)
LZ 是商学院的。学校排名20左右,几个interview都是排名50以内的。
开始还挺高兴的，毕竟自己也不是牛人，还以为RP旺；
那到第四个的时候，才发觉是不是只要request, 人家都会给interview啊？
还是今年market实在是太好了？？？ |

chair不告诉，说到时候会介绍。看了一下系里有二十多个faculty。Phone interview
刚开始的时候chair介绍了名字，但是太快有的名字没有听清楚。Phone interview过程自己表现还可以。
Phone interview结束后我给chair发了thanks note。对于其他的人，我是否需要向
chair问他们的名字，然后给他们每人发thanks note呢？ |

committee chair。我同时转发给自己的gmail邮箱。CV和Cover Letter里面留的***@*
**.edu的邮箱.search chair3月底前发邮件给我系主任（我的其中一个推荐人），说要
和我phone interview。我系主任告诉我了这件事（幸好系主任没当垃圾邮件删除。）
我知道后，用***@***.edu邮箱发给search chair约时间。search chair给我回到
gmail邮箱。
抱怨：为什么不直接和我联系phone interview；为什么给我回信到gmail?
我发了我的avaliable的时间，对方说4月11-4月15日安排时间，但是一直没给我告诉具
体时间。前天周日的时候我实在忍受不了发邮件催，search chair说周二下午12:30.这
两次我都用***@***.edu发给search chair，search chair一次回到我的gmail，一次回

，甚至“亚男”）。因为phone interview时间太短其实也看不来什么。
我去年在hiring committee上，我们phone interview之后又缩短了list,但是主要是出
于方向的考虑而不是candidate方面interview的发挥。 |

上周收到第一个on-campus visit 的邀请。联系我的人说目前就只有下周一available
让我on-site (估计也是其他candidates 选完了时间才想起了我吧)。因为只有那个时
间段，又是第一个on-site 机会，我就答应了。但是其实那天我还有一个B学校的phone
interview 已经安排好了interview时间的。我想请教各位这种情况我应该怎么办？老
老实实和B学校说要去on-campus visit 请他们考虑是不是能帮我re-schedule一下
