if you want to do simple text match/replacement in those emails, you can use
perl/sed and directly operate in the thunderbird mailbox files.
For example, if all your emails are stored under the Local_FolderInbox in
Thunderbird, you can find this file under a folder (Linux: ~/.thunderbird/
xxxxxxx.default/Mail/Local Folder/Inbox, Windows: C:
UsersUsernameAppDataRoamingThunderbird).

thunderbird主要是在下载和index邮件的时候特别的慢，经常freeze。 我在
thunderbird里面增加了catch的size到1024M，重启一次就变回到350M默认的catch

对我来讲，smart lphone的主要功能就是能随时随地查看email。MS的每一个人都是某
种控，我是一个email控。我每天平均大概要收到50来封email。能够不断地收到email
对我来讲，感觉就像在高速上安全地随着车流在行驶，如果有半天时间我没有收到任何
email，我会和被堵住高速上动弹不得一样不自在。
如果更仔细地看，我只是一个收email控，因为收到的email有60%我是直接就删掉了，

发帖数: 1298 | 9 我以前不知道用filter的时候也觉得gmail没什么特别优势，呵呵。
我当时也以为filter就是为了处理垃圾邮件的。
你可以根据你收件的种类设定几个lable，加上不同颜色。然后
比方说有天你收到个广告，但是是你关心的，选filter msg like this,
然后apply 某lable + skip inbox + mark as read之类。以后你不会
在inbox看到，但是可以统一在那个label（folder）里看到。google
的filter功能挺全的。
我别的几个email现在都forward给gmail。根据来源或者收件人不同，
我直接把它们滤到指定label，inbox每天都很简洁，我也不会耽误收
别的信。
label的好处是同一封信可以有多个label，但是其他email的folder管理
模式，一封信只能放进一个folder。
还有一个喜欢gmail的地方是寄给你的信(>>)，cc给你的信和寄(>)
给某个group包含你的信(没有符号）可以清楚的区别。搜索很快。 |

Thunderbird可以给每一个email账号建立一个自己的目录，
而Outlook Express把所有email都放在同一个inbox之中。
比如你有一个学校的账号，有一个公司的账号，有一个yahoo的账号，
Thunderbird可以给你建3个目录，每个里面都有inbox，
不会混乱，便于管理。
而Outlook Express都给你放在同一个local inbox中，

pine to check email. After I untar the file, I find that there is a big
file: sent-message. I can use vi to open the sent-message file and see all
the emails I replied. But the file inbox is only about 2k. When I open the

inbox before?

Archive' is used to get rid of that label. Once you archive a mail, it
will not longer show up in your inbox.

发帖数: 1476 | 15 一直在用Eudora 1.5 (不好意思，版本低了点)，设置成每几分钟
自动check email. 刚才忽然防毒软件Vshield报告下载的email
中有病毒，提示“是否删除”。我也没在意，前一阵类似的东西
多了，反正咱不打开就没事，於是“删除”。可是马上就发现
病毒大概是删掉了，可是我的Inbox里的邮件内容全都不见了，
只剩邮件列表(email list)还在。但其他folder(如Outbox, Trash,
以及自己建立的mailbox等等)里的邮件及列表都未受影响。
Eudora好像每个folder都是个文件，叫xxx.mbx的，另外每个
folder里的email list则保存在另一个叫xxx.toc的文件里，
刚才看了一下，发现我的Eudora下Inbox.mbx现在已经变成0字节，
Inbox.toc还没受影响(所以我还能继续看见email list),
其他文件好像也未受影响。
是什么病毒刚才没注意，现在只是从email list上能看出
发件人是 3***************[email protected] (xxx.edu是我的学校)

收了信，inbox文件大小相应增加，删了所收到的信，inbox文件大小不变。同样的事情

把原先管理Outlook邮件（学校邮箱）对应的那个pst文件存了下来，重装的时候又拷到
相对应的文件夹里，但是重新设置Outlook后又有了一个新的default的pst文件，设置
前后都用的是IMAP。重新运行后一切正常，无非是打开Outlook后里面有两个Outlook对
应的pst文件，一新一旧，新的是当前正在用的正在IMAP的，旧的存了以前所有的
emails。我的棘手问题是，我在做这件事的当天，有33封未读的新邮件在转移过程中找
不到了，很不幸，现在在学校email服务器上肯定是没有了，但在Outlook的Inbox里似
乎有（旧的pst文件对应的那个），因为Inbox旁边的括号里写了个表示未读邮件数量的
蓝色的33的数字，但是点进去就是找不到。奇怪的是，如果在那33封未读邮件中如果有
人再给我发信，就能够连新带旧的跳出来，而Inbox后面的那个括号里表示未读邮件数
目的那个蓝色数字也相应减小一个（我后来又收到两封对应邮件，所以现在那个数字是

但是今天我收了新邮件之后,在左侧可以看到有几封新邮件,
在右侧却看不到新信件.
在 ~/nsmail/ 目录下(存放邮件的目录)可以看到 Inbox 文件被更新,
用xemacs 打开该文件,可以看到新邮件的内容.
但是在 netscape messager 中看不到内容,在 Inbox 列表中看不到新邮件.
(但是左侧的目录树中看到有新邮件)
也就是,它不刷新 Inbox 文件
而且我清空 垃圾相 后,看到 Trash 文件仍然有80 多兆 |

1.
不同account的email放在各自的folder里。要想看email，得要进到各个不同的account的
folder里面。OE就比较好，都放在inbox里，一目了然。
2. 如果有多的account的话，不能自动排序，哪个account先建的，那个就在前面。这样
，旧的account总是在前面，而新建的default account却在尾巴上。
3. 如果选了“remove from server after delete from local”，如果那信从inbox挪到
另一个folder里，而不是delete，mozilla也认为是从local delete了，下一次收信的时
候，server上的备份也被删除了。唯一的解决办法就是不自己建任何新的folder。所有的
心都保存在inbox里。
(p.s. foxmail更差，根本没有这个选项。)
这个毛病从communicator开始就有了，现在还没改过来。
现在用outlook。outlook的address book也很好用，而且可以和yahoo address
