Nothing Has Changed by Colin Thubron
Colin Thubron started his career in documentary film and in TV. He made
his reputation, though, as a travel writer, especially in the Middle East.
He has more recently turned to novels. There is a journey in this story; it
is an exploration of the writer's own feelings when faced with both his loss
and someone else's. Whether the woman in the story really existed or not
does not matter; the situation is a very human one.

8. And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that
we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
"8. And not, etc. This is an elliptical sentence, in which a word is to be
understood. It will be complete, if you read it thus, — “and why is it not
rather said, (as we are reproached, etc.) that we are to do evils, that
good things may come?” But the Apostle deigns not to answer the slander;
which yet we may check by the most solid reason. The prete...

(10:29-37) (jonahome.net)

Gal 5
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity,
sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger,
rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy,4 drunkenness, orgies, and things
like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such
things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Contraception
Historically, Christians always have condemned contraceptive sex. The two
forms mentioned in the Bible, and sterilization, are
condemned without exception (Gen. 38:9-10, Deut. 23:1). The Fathers of the
Church recognized that in natural law the purpose of sexual intercourse is
procreation; contraceptive sex, which deliberately blocks that natural
purpose, is therefore a violation of natural law.
Every church in Christendom condemned contraception until 1930, whe...

Romans 6
19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human
limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and
to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to
righteousness leading to holiness. 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were
free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that
time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things ...
