时候做论文，先要有理论和hypotheses，然后再建model，自我工作以来，好象没人关
心这个。我很好奇有没有什么特别的job title/contents特别注重做inference，还是
就是取决于公司/行业的背景文化，甚至具体工作的组里老板的背景能力导致要求的标
准不同。
不过，我觉得我的问题还没有上升到这个层次，其实是一个很简单的问题。反过来思考
，我们的presentation其实很简单，本来是做给上面的人看的，具体的建模过程什么的
根本都没有，只有一些结果，然后突然又给一个peer group present，人家不明白有疑
问也是正常的。 |

的，弄得我一身冷汗。先做一下自我介绍本人31了，2009年毕业于国内一普通大学2E专
业。来美国5年了一直做全职，现在宝宝也快2岁了。我和老公的绿卡正在排期，大概是
两年后能排到，所以想现在学点东西到时候找个工作。我现在的想法就是只要毕业能找
到工作就好。真怕花了老公大把银子最后还是家庭主妇。哦对了忘交代了，我的英语水
平是一般。教育宝宝都是全中文的。我的问题主要有2个方面。
1.学统计从事哪个方向的就业机会多啊？我看有学生物统计去药厂的，有在银行和保险
公司的。看有人说药厂的工作经验到换工作的时候是很难转的。那什么方向的工作经验
是越久越光明呢？
2学校的curriculum上有好多课程，有经验的兄弟姐妹们能帮我看看哪些课程的实用性
强么？里边有的应该是phd的课程，不知道我能不能选呢。我把一些我觉的不用选的和
不能选的课程删掉了。小硕就是10门课。

发帖数: 95 | 26 长期疾病如child dystonia的发展期一般是15-20年，在这期间多种神经机制交互作用，周期短的如reflex以毫秒计，周期长的如神经元死亡以年计。如果关心的问题是“短期reflex怎么影响15-20年的疾病进程”这种，别说答案了，连猜想都没有。所以构建spinal cord这部分的第一个目的就是起码找到一些testable hypotheses
当然NIH给钱的另一个理由，是这套硬件工具可以用来做drug screening. 神经科在临床上有一个让医方和药方都很尴尬的现状，也就是用药非常盲目。以dystonia为例，神经科医生基本上是开了药试试看，不行再换一种，奏效了都不清楚为什么。我们做得东西相当于用电子技术弄个动物模型出来，然后拿来试药。
至于是不是在骗funding，应该不是吧，至少我觉得很serious. 毕竟老板也是既在NASA当过工程师又在医院做neurologist，想了很久积累出来的框架。加上刚才说了，这套东西实际上是个neural computer，所有工作加在一起足够干上二三十年 |
