The research work will be highly interdisciplinary with an emphasis on
porous silicon based-biosensors, bioreactors and functional materials.
Successful applicants will have received a Ph.D. and demonstrated a solid

Karl Deisseroth一次又一次地用他发明的新技术在脑科学（brain science）发展
史上刻下了自己的大名。
Karl Deisseroth在2004年有了第一个完全属于他的实验室，后来他发现那间实验
室的前主人竟然是诺贝尔物理学奖得主朱棣文（Steven Chu）。“我搬进实验室的
时候，朱棣文的名字还挂在实验室的门上。”美国加利福尼亚州斯坦福大学（
Stanford University in California）的神经科学家Deisseroth回忆说。沾名人
的光总是有好处的，后来有一位化学系的学生Feng Zhang拜访朱棣文时，
Deisseroth居然用尽花言巧语把他给留了下来，“虽然Zhang没听说过我，可是我
让他对我的课题产生了兴趣。” Deisseroth得意地说道。
