finessing D is more complex. You succeed when DK onside, D3-3, or 4-2, but the
person holding short D does not have Hxxx. It's actually slightly better that,
since if you play DQ, if East has DKx Hxxx, it's hard for him not to cover.
Then even he has Kxxx, there's a likelyhood that he'll cover (you might have
AJxx). So you will make this most of the time even when East had AQxxx Kx Kxxx
xx.
So I'd say finesse D. |

早上5点起床，5：45 出发，一路上都是以超过限速10 迈的速度开的。8：15 am，开了
150迈的时候，离公司还仅有30迈，突然发现一辆警车跟在后边。我赶紧取消定速巡航
，换到右边的慢车道。不幸的是，五颜六色的警灯也亮起来了，警车也换到我这条道上
。我心中马上想：“完了！人生终于完整了。” 由于是第一次被抓，心里很紧张，导

I tried 4D, partner bid 4H, I was too chicken to pass it, since it sounds
like a cuebid, so I retreat to 5C and 5C goes down 1.
my pd has: SKJx HJxxx DKTx CAxx
So doubling 2D is the winning action for this hand.
But I am afraid double may lead to some serious problems,
since it's MP, partner may even pass your double with:
SKJx Hxxx DKJx CAQxx when nobody vul.
. 2D may go down 2, but 3NT should be cold, and 6C |

That's not a good way to bid. One should always bid to play. Imagining
what the best hand, average hand and worst hand partner can provide is always
a good guide for player's high level judgement.
I would rather play it to show solid diamond suit in 2/1 gf structure.
this is not true. the minimum for a jump rebid can be only 14,
DAKQJTx SAxx Hxxx Cx is enough.
This is usually true, but there are still some exceptions when you hold
7-4 two suiter, it's always right to bid the solid 7 card suit f |

I bid 4H. once a long while, pd may raise me to 5H when he holds something
like this:
Sxx Hxxx DAKTxxxx Cx
anyway, 4H costs nothing. it also suggests a good lead.
sometimes, pd may hold Sxx Hxx DAQTxxxx Cxx, against 4S, I do wish
he could find H lead.
DA Dx seems good, pd should have some cards in H, so just follow his
suggestions to draw trumps.
6D. pd sounds a like a huge D suit with distibutions:

with long clubs and no D fit.
something like this:
Sxxx Hxxx Dx CKQxxxx is reasonable. I think passing 2D isn't a good
choice for this hand. Partner's 2D doesn't have to be a strong suit,
I'd bid 2D with something like this for sure:
SAKQ Hxx DAJTxx CAxx, for this hand, 2D isn't a good spot. 5C is
quite cold though.

because sometimes, you may not have spade fit and H stopper,
for example, you may have SJ Hxxx DAxxx CAKxxx, the only bid that makes
sense here is 4C.
you may easily miss a cold 5C or 5D if partner
has SAKxxx Hx DKQxx CQxx, so looking for a fit is still the first priority.
This bidding sequence is different from
1H 3S 4C
I think 4C here should be fit showing. Since with S stopper, we can
bid 3NT, without S stopper, we can double, it doesn't make sense to |

and aggressive balancing, others like aggressive overcalls and don't
like balancing much.
When you hold something like:
SAxxx Hxxx DAxx CKxx,
even the most crazy player wouldn't double RHO's 1S opening.
However, when the bidding goes like this way:
1S p 2S p
p ?
It's quite a sound way to reopen the bidding since partner
is rated to be short in S and has some value. What would you
bid now?

DKJ, SA and a heart honor, and you can never find that out by bidding
2D, suppose partner raises you to 3D, will you try game?
Most likely, 3nt will go down I belive. Even if he holds
SAKx Hxxx DKxx Cxxxx, 3nt still isn't cold. This is a typical hand
that you need about 27 HCP to make a game because of your weakness in
opener's suit and your HQx doubleton. Change the holding
to Sxxx HAQxx DAKxx CKx, you want to bid here because this hand cont |
